F/class rear bag height

Hi all,

I'm in the Market for a new rear bag for my f class rifle, I need the tallest one possible, if anybody could measure there bag height and post it, it would help me decide .

Regards

Steve

Are you shooting F T/R? If so, it sounds as though you may be shooting off a bipod that is too high based on your question....Or... you don't have enough comb (or adjustable cheekpiece) on your stock.

What are you using? If you shoot with a Harris, I'd recommend a 6-9" notched leg swivel type with pod-lock. I shot with a Harris for a long time and used one of the tactical style (squeeze) rear bags. Worked well. These days, I shoot with a Centershot and I use an Edgewood rear bag. For F T/R, I like to get low and crawl up into the rifle with my face all over the stock ( I use A5 McMillan with the Harris setup and a Masterclass stock with the Centershot). If you don't have an adjustable cheekpiece and you are too low, get a stock pack like the military uses if you don't want to get another stock.

If you shoot F Open, I'm sure some of the folks here will share some useful info with you.

Protektor's standard F-Class rear bag is 4.5" tall in the center between the ears. I ordered one done custom at 5.5", but my front rest has a ton of elevation adjustment. Front rest sits at 7" bottomed out and will got to 11" if I need it. With everything level my front rest is at 8.5" with the 5.5" rear bag.
