I have shot with al lip ski and I know he is a great shooter and machinist. I kind of figured that the article on the bulletin about his 8 year old daughter shooting a 200-11 and then a 594 in a 3x600 would get some chatter here? She is a card carrying expert in f open....that is some fine shooting.

We don't see many 8 year old experts in Palma. Is it because they are not strong enough to hold the rifle? Are there more mechanics than f class? I don't know.
I am the first guy to deal out a little good natured ribbing it the f class guys. I bust balls all the time...some of them get mad and defensive, some take it as the joke it is. When they get mad and call my target a "Helen Keller" target I always just say...
Let's swap equipment right now and shoot for a $100 bucks....that usually ends the "argument". I know there are lots of f class people that have or do shoot sling. I would be interested to hear from them.

Not that you will win easily but it has a alluring percentage of satisfaction on the paper that shows that you have a chance of getting somewhere with it. The folks that stick with TR (or SR) do so because they they have the aptitude for it and/or are just determined to. In addition, they have on average, been shooting many more years. I have been shooting F/TR full time for two years and occasionally for the prior twelve and I have not won any major individual matches yet.
Assuming that they have the aptitude, it is going to take a new shooter 4-6 years to become consistently competitive at the high end of F-class which seems to me to be about the same learning curve as TR or SR.
F-class' skill distribution spans a much wider area than does TR (perhaps not SR). In other words there are a lot more new F class shooters, so there is a much wider opportunity for new F shooters to win a match here and there than there is in TR where the rankings are more stratified.
Furthermore, Beau's skepticism stems from a lack of knowing Ms. Lipski's background. While she may not have the tens of thousands of rounds of experience we may have, she has the benefit of the veteran tutoring from her Dad and the desire to learn. That is a potent combination for advancement.
