Excuses for buying another firearm

I can’t tell you how many times My wife has used that reasoning.... I got such a great deal on this purse but I didn’t have shoes that would match, soooo.....(you see where this is going)

I have been way past needing a excuse for years, when you get this age if you aren't down to eating Alpo, you just buy the gun because that light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter every day.

I bought 6 new handguns at one time. I shot them all, kept the 4 I liked and sold the other 2. I didn't need a reason or an excuse. It's what I do.

I don't need or use an excuse. I tell my wife, "I'm looking at 'X', and if I like it I'm going to buy it." So far her only response has been, "Are you going to shoot it or just fondle it?" She has her hobbies and I have mine. We each enjoy seeing the other happy doing what makes us happy. Fortunately we both have modest tastes and are blessed to have the financial ability to pursue them.

I don't believe in excuses..... who needs them? I have reasons. My main 2 reasons are, "I want it" AND "I can afford it". No man should need an excuse to buy a gun.

Double edged sword with my wife with this one. I have to pester her to replace 25$ flip flops when they wear out. Nice shes super low maintenance, and extremely frugal, but dang, I have no legs to stand on when money comes up.

We always joke, that I'm her wife. Shes absolutely correct.

Guess I’m the outlier here. A few years ago it occurred to me that there were many guns (that I really like) in my collection that hadn’t seen daylight in a couple decades. Since then I’ve decided to start actually USING what I own instead of making a bigger pile. Been having more fun now.

Over the years my wife and kids would ask me what I wanted for birthday/Christmas.
My reply was a Weatherby.
Never was given one but now the kids are 6000 miles away with their 4 kids.
My wife and I cannot easily spend money and spoil the grandkids so I’m now buying all them Weatherbys I’ve always wanted.
Life is very good at this point.
