Excuses for buying another firearm

I have used this excuse in the past and I think it applies now more then ever.
I went to bed early last evening so I woke up at 2:30 am and thought this would be a quiet time to load up some 6.4 for my wife. Well I started digging around in my reloading shop looking for some 30/30s for a guy that cant find a box within 100 miles. While going through my supplies and ammo I noticed I have several hundred factory and reloaded 44 mag rounds and over 1,000 cast and jacketed bullets as well as 400 new 44 Special brass in the bags. At todays prices you dont need much ammo to equal or surpass the value of the firearm. Just so happens I dont own a 44 mag and I have 6 grand children that at some point will need a white tail gun.
Thats my excuse. Now what would be a good choice for a new hunter?

Here in CA we need to do a background check and it cost $30 . I bought a used 10/22 for $180 but thought adding the $30 background check would make it less of a deal so I bought a Springfield 1911 at the same time . Yep to save $30 I spent another $800 lol

There's never a "bad" excuse to purchase another gun.

Here's one for you - what if a lion gets loose from the zoo and is roaming the neighborhood? Shouldn't you have a 375 H&H in the gun safe?

Or Jeff Cooper's rationale - three of everything - one in use - one as backup - one in the repair shop!

I don't believe in excuses..... who needs them? I have reasons. My main 2 reasons are, "I want it" AND "I can afford it". No man should need an excuse to buy a gun.

Buying for the grandkids is always pretty safe, I used that one once with no grief from grandma. May have to see if it will work again. LOL

Buy a set of BR go/no-go gauges. Then you have an excuse to build a 20BR, 22BR, 6BR, 7BR and 30BR. I have two of them, working on the others.

I've "gone to the range" and found my gun case empty once i got there.

Of course i had to put something in it, to bring the case back home. Can't bring an empty case home, right???

Now i need a storage cabinet.
She may not know which gun is which, but darn if she can't count!!

I don't need any excuses. If I want it I get it.. Wife doesn't care and doesn't pay attention. On the other hand if she wants something, well that's OK. It's a 2-way street.

I got a really good deal on a set of .243 reloading dies at the gunshow. Didn't have that caliber so I had to keep walking around until I found a nice lefty .243.
