Ever have a pistol too good to shoot? :) CZ 75

Big fan of the cz. I wish they would bring back the 550 series rifles.

The 550's are still made. It's now their large caliber (magnum and safari level caliber) centerfire line of rifles. Of course with the Mauser style bolt. The 527 is their small centerfire line with the micro Mauser style bolt. They changed the standard centerfire to the 557 which is more of a Remington style bolt. The 557 also drops the single set trigger in favor of an adjustable single stage trigger. Yeah, I like the 550 as well and there are plenty of them out there to be had. I've thought about a 6.5x55 FS version but have never pulled the trigger (so to speak) on one. I do have the 550 FS in a 9.3x62. That thing is a brute. I figure that everyone needs a Moose gun even if it makes you flinch after 5 rounds and cry like a baby after 15.

thanks for this.
CZ's have a large following in the US.
Unexpected in LA; as a specialty. well for one man.
Polished feed ramps, and trigger work, I'd guess. ?
"nightmares - just me trying to be funny. No offense intended.
shoot em if you've got em.

I dont actually own any guns. They scare me especially one like that because it holds more than 10rds

hey what is the history. all 9mm ammo and chambering - are 9X19 Luger...
I bought it from a local dentist who worked his way through school buying and selling Lugers. He kept the best of what he found. Then years later, someone broke into his house and he decided to sell out for fear that it would happen again. I bought the Navy and a 1916 DWM that appeared to be un-fired. I checked the markings on the Navy and it indicated assignment to a U-boat. I don't have a clue what it's military record was. Pretty cool, 6" barrel and a two position rear sight on the back of the toggle. I ended up selling both back to him and the joke was we could make a living buying and selling to each other.

Then there was the Battle of Britain Super 38 Colt 1911 that I bought from someone who was in the Merchant Marine at the end of WWII. He bought it from someone on the docks in England who didn't want to turn it in to the authorities. I was too young to drive, but I saw it in the local newspaper classifieds and asked my Dad if I could buy it. He let me ride my bike two blocks to the guy's house and I bought it for $100. Very few made it back to the US and it had a Schwartz safety. I guess guns weren't so threatening back then.

There's alot of hooey on the interwebs. I'd wager that you Dusty - are a reliable source of solid info. Plus you are a Southerner. Sense of humor, tempered by lethality. Or vice-versa.

heckuva story. $100 back then was alot of $dough. Funny how a well machined weapon was a valued item. "bought it from someone". Selling back to each other. love that. thx, pal.

Those were the good old days. I lived in a small town and my grandfather owned a dirt pit a couple of miles out of town. I had a "shootin buddy" and we cast bullets and reloaded 45 acp and 38 Super. All before we were drivers license age. Once we had plenty loaded up we would ride our bicycles to the dirt pit and blast away. Once I found something I thought was lead, but turned out to be babbit! I was one of the first people to have armor piercing cast lead bullets.

I wonder if two teenagers on bikes with pistols and a couple of hundred rounds of ammunition would bother anyone today?

Once we started driving our shooting time declined due to "other interests".

Sorry, got off topic.

I also had a WWII Nazi marked CZ 27 that was a bring back. I never shot it either.

The good days when 99.9999% of gun owners would shoot only a paper target, a buck, elk, yote or squirrel. other interests - would be gals. any pix?

Like minded fellas; here. Funny how we wield lethal weapons; but would not hurt a fly. Just - game in season or paper stapled at 100- 500-1000 yds. or steel. Good chance of missing all of em. well; if i'm pulling the trigger.

Darn women, always leading us astray!

I've been pondering a Shadow 2 or a TSO for a while, just haven't got up the nerve yet. Keep finding more BR related toys that cut ahead in line.

SS smooth.jpg Well if you want to be humbled, try clay shooting / trap / skeet.
Then a pistol.
Both are alot of fun. Hard.
Bianchi plates at 15 yds. :) Trumps LR targets every day of the week and twice on Sundays.
But that's just me.
Get that shadow 2 and run alot of ammo.
If you aren't grinning? hmmm.
Do you smile -- shooting that BR rifle.
ya me neither.
