Some of you may have seen in the news that Equifax reached a settlement for their unprecedented data breach some time back. It's time for all those put at risk to claim their settlement.
"In September of 2017, Equifax announced a data breach that exposed the personal information of 147 million people. The company has agreed to a global settlement with the Federal Trade Commission, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and 50 U.S. states and territories. The settlement includes up to $425 million to help people affected by the data breachIn September of 2017, Equifax announced a data breach that exposed the personal information of 147 million people. For the majority of folks, this will mean $125 per individual who had data stolen (or free credit monitoring). You can qualify for additional money if your credit was actually harmed.
Figured I'd pass the link out for anyone who was interested; and yes, it's legitimate, this isn't a scam, and you probably do qualify. Takes about 2-3 minutes to file your claim.

Payouts are sometime in the Jan 2020 time frame. Maybe now everyone can afford to try some A-tips on the house.
And before anyone freaks out, this isn't a govt handout. Equifax is a publicly traded company who failed to safeguard your info, and they're paying a penalty as a result.
