I got a letter included in my Chevy Bolt EUV package to avoid anything over a level 2 40 amp charger unless it is an emergency situation.
I have a 92 mile round trip commute every day. I have a level 2 at my Shop, plus one at home. I rarely use the one at home. I simply plug in when I get to my shop. It will be charged full when I head home. It will have around 160 miles worth left when I get home. When I get back to my shop the next morning, it will be around 120 miles left, I plug it in, it tops off in about 3 hours, ready to go again.
It need not be complicated. The Level 2 charger that I have came with instructions for the appropriate plug. I went the Home Depot and got the male/female, mounted it and ran #4 wire to two 50 amp breakers. (My house has a 300 amp service.)
