Eggnog recipe - with whiskey ….

I feel sure all those chess pies, buttermilk pies, etc are depression era pies. I have even seen a mock pecan pie made with cooked pinto beans. Those folks knew how to make do.

Here’s the one she follows for the bourbon chocolate pecan.
My wife says a one cup measure will divide the 6 ounces of chocolate chip’s evenly out of a 12 ounce bag.

Thank the KITCHEN MASTER for the recipe. Just finished a big piece of pecan pie, with ice cream..
Darn Cardiology Dr, wants me to lose weight. What the H is wrong with him.

Hope everyone has a full tummy, ready for your blankie, & nap.

Thanks for the thread! Your pies remind me of my childhood when my grandmother would make Italian grain pie. It was similar to a buttermilk pie but with wheat berries and pieces of candied fruit (especially orange peel) mixed throughout. I know what I’m making for Christmas… pecan pie and a grain pie.
