DUD Remington 7.5 small rifle bench rest primers

It may be the angle, but your primers look really deep ...

You would think the primer would be a dud if it’s set to shallow..the primers are flush. I shot 16 today 8 fired well and then these 8

Any chance you got stuff (cleaning media) in the flash hole?

It’s all brand new brass I cleaned and checked before priming and loading. The primers didn’t even pop

Did you uniform your primer pockets. Them primers seem to deep. To much headspace or firing spring is worn. But them primers seem deep. I've never had a 7 1/2 fail.

I'm with rijndael. Blow that picture up and the primer looks way deep. Bad primer pockets would be my guess.

Neither have I. Possibly not seated fully and the firing pin pushed them to full seating depth. That would cushion the pin strike enough to quite possibly dent the primer but not ignite it.

Did you hit any of them a second time. If it fires after a second hit then I know its probably a seating depth issue. My shooting buddy made a batch that were not seated fully and that's how I figured it out.

The primer pockets are too deep, each and every one is seated well Past flush enough to cause misfires. The ones that fired should be placed side by side 4 good, 4 bad for us to see. Did you by chance trim the primer pockets to square them up?

I was having some FTF in the beginning of the cold season. I pulled my striker and found it to have too much lube on it. Cleaned it up and haven’t had a failure since.

The miss fired round was not that deep before firing pin made contact

The one on the left is deeper than the right, primer pocket is irregular.

Nothing wrong with the primers you got primer pocket issues. Are you seating them according to feel or depth? You can see the misfired ones are deeper than the fired one
