Down loading pictures?

When I try to download pictures from my computer to an add on Accurate Shooter it will come back and tell me that the file is to large, any suggestions out there?

Forum Boss: Some modern cellphone pix are Huge— 3600 pixels wide or more. That’s way more than needed. We have software that can resize attachments automatically, but it rejects files that are way too big.

My advice — find a simple app and size to 1000 pixels.

Try to Compress (jpg compression to 10%) and crop/resize (1000x800 pixels will fill most screens) before
Uploading from your computer.

FORUM Boss — you do NOT need to compress so radically! Do 1000 pixels at 85% jpeg resolution.

30KB image of 45-40 wildcat I made.

Gary, what are the dimensions (pixels) and total KB of that image?
Here it is reduced with a little resizing and jpg compression. About 120KB.
Bandwidth and storage space are often taken for granted.
A big forum like this one can handle it no problem though.
Except a slight delay when you load a page with several large images.

Not sure on pixels, I had to downsize from actual size to large. It said 1.6 MB

You can LINK to a hosting service, display a reduced size that will open the hosing site and display the LARGER image when detail is important.
Actual size with a good digital camera or cell phone can be 5 to 10MB.
Image size straight from my DSLR is about 6000X4000 pixels. Way too big.
Cropping, compression, and resizing conserve bandwidth and storage.

1. email pic to yourself
2. open email, on lower right-hand corner of pic is a download icon (may have to hover)
3. click icon to download to pc
4. box should appear in upper righthand corner of screen with open file option
5. If no icon in upper rh corner go to your download folder and select pic
6. open pic then right click inside of pic
7. select resize (first option)
8. save to desktop
Pic is now saved in a smaller size perfect for posting

I do my picture posting from my IPad.

I hit “attach file”, then click on either take photo or photo file. If I choose to take a picture,it it will ask me if I want to use it. I say yes, if it is too large, I just hit Medium, then hit keep and transfer it. To make full page, Just hold on thumb nail and it will go full page.

I just took this picture of Maddie begging for a bite of pork chop.

I can go crop them a little bit more getting the extra off the sides and they seem to work then.

I recommend Prish Image Resizer. It is an old Windows Powertoy.

After installation, you just RIGHT CLICK on a file or picture, and a menu appears which gives a choice of sizes. Select a size, and click on it, and ZAP, you picture is resized to the new size, with a modified name , and your old picture is NOT modified or lost. super fast, super easy.

Prish Resizer( via download.cnet) This link is to the webpage which you can read before you choose to install.
