Don't discount the Lee Collet!

Don't discount the Lee Collet die out of hand. Here is a short video I made.

OK, its not up to Redding Competition Bushing die standards, but at least any neck wall variation is pushed to the outside - good for hunting loads which you cant be bothered to neck turn :)
Likewise, they are great to use before neckturning - with the variation on the outside, you can get very consistent neck wall thickness.

I honestly believe these Lee Collets are better than any die with a button. That said, you do need a press with a positive handle stop. Without this the neck tension does seem to vary.

Kev.

I have had great accuracy success with the Lee collet with the .308, 25-06 and .204, and have gotten .005 runout, confirmed by a friends 260, and he also gets .005 runout with his Lee collet.

I have a Lee press and .243 Deluxe Die Set. I shoot a 6CM and mostly load for it with my custom die, lately I've been sizing with my Lee Collet Die. Never have I shot this rifle at 100 yards before, but since sizing with the Lee Collet I've shot only 3-5 shot groups 1 in the 0's and 2 in the 2's. The 2's came off a bipod and the 0 was on my benchrest. This is with a 115 DTAC that I've shot a 5 shot 4.5 wide x 1 inch high 1000 yard group, also with Collet Sized brass. From now on every fourth reloading will be with the 6CM die and the other 3 will be with the Lee Collet Die. Chambering or extraction is not an issue.

I use a Lee collet for my .308 win. Works great! I do size it twice as recommended on the Lee website for reduced runout, not that I have a problem with this). I size it once when I deprime, and again when I prime which is after I tumble and do my brass prep.
I did take the cap off of my die and put a touch of grease on the top of the collet, makes the sizing go much smoother.
