Do you use glass vials for preloads?

Though I prefer to throw charges at the range, I have tried the plastic vials several times. A dryer sheet swiped around the inside works great for static.

So.... pardon my ignorance.

If I follow this thread correctly, ya'll are pre-loading charges?

If so, what do you find to be advantageous to this practice?

Asking because I have never seen nor thought about this

Thanks.
I do it when I have the opportunity to do load development. As soon as I find a load that doesn’t work, I move on to the next charge. It saves having to pull down loaded rounds that did not shoot well.

The glass vials I bought came with a divided cardboard box that works well for carrying them around.

Now I just take the scale and thrower to the range.

When I go to the two day matches, I will carry my chargemaster also.

But for the 1 day 100/200 matches I will soon be running, when I probably only need 110 rounds, I will carry these vials (since I only have 93 cases).

When my new barrel comes in, and I set up new brass for that barrel, I will be running 200ish pieces of brass, and this will not be an issue. Hunter taper barrels are not ran that often, so it may be a year before I get my new barrel (that's why I have 2 on order).
