Do you give out reloading data?

I have no problem publicizing my loads. I'm not forcing anyone to load them; should they choose to do so, that's on them.

Much the same as "The road up Mt Hamilton is a great drive for a sports car"; is not saying "do 60mph up the 30mph twisties."

Reloading Guy shows a pic of Vihtavuori first edition 1994

That reloading manual shows 5.8 gr 3N37 with 147 gr in 9x19mm.

That is the hottest 9mm published loads I have seen.

Back in 2002 I was working every pistol powder and bullet combination in 9mm up to brass destruction.

11 gr Power Pistol 158 gr is the hottest load in a 9mm that brass survives....but the recoil makes it completely unusable in all the 9mm pistols I have tested. The handguns lack the slide mass x recoil spring force to keep the slide to frame impact under control. I have built triple recoil spring assemblies that have 47 pound of force. That is too much for the grip of the average man to chamber a round, and yet the slide still slams the frame too hard.

I see no problem sharing load data because I own responsibility alone for what I load and I assume others are similarly not children and therefore aren’t expecting to hold anyone but themselves responsible for *their* load decisions.

I think that's a huge assumption.

I still marvel at the reloading manuals....the proofreading has to be phenomenal.

I'll see loads some people post and claimed velocities, some as much as 400 fps faster than mine w/ 1gr difference in powder, and wonder, "how the hell are you getting that?"
“No pressure signs”

my reply: “you don’t think 400fps higher is itself a pressure sign?” ‍:(

What MVs were you getting? How quickly did it destroy the frame or slide?

Sadly, we now live in a society where the coming generations and current adults are taught that it's OK to NOT take responsibility for their own actions. I'll assess a person's ability to take instruction, observe them for maturity level and then decide whether or not to help with reloading. Too many phone zombies and brain dead meat sacks now-a-days to blithely give advice on most anything. Treating them like children is actually elevating your estimation of some of them.
Edit to add: I like Darwin Awards, but I don't want to be the one giving a gold passkey to a future recipient.

I asked one person once, and his reply was, "you're doing something wrong." My data was within 100 FPS of predicted. Figured I just had a slow barrel, but not *that* slow.

The MV is unknown for that. I did chrono 380 158 gr at 1158 and 1187 fps with the same powder, but 8.5 gr instead of 11 gr.

The recoil wears out my hands after a few shots. The Glock 19 and Kel-Tec P11 did not fail when the brass did not fail.

In the 1990s I was making money designing power supplies. I disabled the over current, and ran up the power until the supply prototype blew up. I would strengthen the primary failure and work up higher. This is my version of HAST, highly accelerated stress test. From overloading dozens of gun designs to find the design margins, I can tell that is probably how most guns are designed.

I think the video was good - but the same person who was impatient to read a manual would have probably lost interest in the first five minutes. I'd have simply said "If you don't know what the f.... you are doing (and if you haven't read at least a few manuals - you don't) adhere to the starting loads in the manual and don't substitute components. The reasons are valid and may keep you alive." That said - I am not shy about asking for data on accurate loads and for which no data exists or can be found. lately - I was running up a load for a .17 cal. lead-free bullet which was briefly produced by a company who switched to more profitable bullets during Covid - and for which no data exists anywhere. I'll look at anything folks are using - then delve into research to learn what I can about the combo BEFORE dropping the charge 10% or more and working up. I have "little Joey" pull the trigger the first time. Just kidding.... I feel comfortable doing what I do. Those who are unsure shouldn't do it.
