Do the bullets fly over or under the flags?

This is crazy I just ran the jdm calculator and it only goes above the line of sight 7.7 moa which turns out to be 73 inches at 1000 yards. You learn something new everyday! Thank god there's people that actually like math and come up with these calculators for us. So the tallest wind flag closest (200-300 yds) would need to be 73 inches above line of sight? Maybe that's why watching the mirage on top of the target frame has always worked best for me.... The wind flags at our club are waaay to tall.

I used the JDM and the Applied Ballistics online calculators for the graphs I used on my original post of this thread.
Alex.

Thanks for posting this Alex. Something else to take into consideration. The last two matches I shot were in Capitan NM and Byers CO. The winds blows over, under and in-between at both places. Humbling experiences to say the least. Practice for Nationals?? I hope not.

I've wanted to several times, just never was willing to give up the points....

It wasn't done on purpose in this instance. Older shooter at an F-Class match shooting from a bench that was slightly offset from the targets. I guess his scope didn't have it in focus...it was about 250 yards from the bench.

I built a set of shoot over flags for the StLouis fclass that worked pretty good actually combined with the taller range flags you could get a pretty good read on conditions. They ran in 2 rows thru the middle field so nobody was far away from them.

Why does the space station still fall to the earth? Doesnt it need a boost every so often to keep its orbit from degrading and keep the speed up?

Because space (especially space fairly close to the Earth) is not a vacuum. Low earth orbits can decay within months due to friction with what little atmosphere is left at 100 miles up. Higher orbits are stable for decades. The moon has stayed in orbit for 4.5 billion years (although its orbit has gotten larger over that time).

So you're saying that in 4.5 billion more years I may not be able to go on a moonlight date??? LOL

I’m thinking the match director might have a problem with my 500 yard flag 14 feet above eye level

As long as they don't go through it they should be OK.
Don't ask how I know, but it was short range BR.

I recently saw someone shoot the flag pole during a match; no joke.

Was it the one way past the impact berm out by the lake on Viale range at Camp Perry ?

I've been to Perry 13 times for CMP week and have been squadded on Viale for every P100 and NTI I have shot in so I have heard that flagpole ring many times.
