Do marks left on case shoulders after using a Giraud trimmer effect precision?

I noticed on a YouTube video about the Giraud case trimmer that it showed the trimmed cases and the images also showed marks left on the case shoulders. Someone commented on the video about the marks. I am thinking about getting a Giraud trimmer but am wondering if with multiple trims after multiple firings of a case whether these marks on the shoulder might affect group size. Anybody know? I would be grateful for feedback.

Hans’t been a problem for me. I bought the Giraud trimmer to speedup my reloading process and it has done just that. The mark on the case comes from the top edge of the case holder. To assure that you get a uniform chamfer all around the case mouth you need to rotate the case slightly as it is being trimmed. Pushing the case straight down and not pressing sideways helps minimize the marking on the case. If you do get marks they are very superficial and do not have an effect on accuracy or case integrity.

I haven't notice any marks "on" my case shoulders and I've done many thousands with my Giraud. I do get a light burnishing marks on the body below the shoulder. It's nothing to be concerned about. . . it's just a light burnishing mark. :)

I seen the same thing on my WFT trimmer. Did as David mentioned. Just polished it a little bit. Just take care to not alter the shoulder portion of the trimmer since the case indexes off that point. Little polish is fine.

Mine doesn't leave marks and I slowly twist the case as it trims, I would possibly suggest that they need to clean their trimmer, sounds like some chips may be leaving markings?

Thanks, you guys convinced me. So this next question should probably be a new thread but I thought I would ask you all. If I get the Giraud trimmer, what accessories should I get to to trim 30BR cases? When looking on the web for the trimmer, among the various calibers listed I don't see 30BR because it's a wildcat. Maybe I should email the Giraud website with this question. Thoughts?

Agree no marks for me either, definitely clean out shavings, maybe wipe off the adapter with isopropanol etc, and trim with the case held vertical not horizontal. I probably have a little residual Hornady case lube on there when I trim, so maybe that helps not sure, then I sonicate in 1shot after trimming and chamfering.
