He would do it if he had more time, maybe someday, he loves projects like that!I think you should give that talented son of yours a duplicator for Christmas. Tables are nice and functional, but so are stocks.
You could play with it until he has the time? Call it a father/son present? He would do it if he had more time, maybe someday, he lives projects like that!
I might try it someday when I retire……. It would be fun. I’d have to do it when I have more time, I’m not the most patient person when it comes to stuff like that or turning wrenches….You could play with it until he has the time? Call it a father/son present?
I made a copy of a Master Sporter stock in my duplicator. I added an 1/8” all the way around the front end and 1/4” around the butt. It will make it a little beefier than the original, which I’ve always considered a little thin in the butt. I’ll do the stippling and rubber paint to make it look like the original. I did a copy for Dusty, a few years ago and wanted to do one for myself. I bought a 595 action over the summer and a new takeoff barrel in 243. I have a CTR bottom metal set and I’ll see if I can put it together while I’m in Texas.I might try it someday when I retire……. It would be fun. No experience. Think that Plyboo would make for a beautiful stock. But you may be right. All the glue/epoxy would add significant weight.Anyone ever use Plyboo? (Bamboo plywood) - Very stable, interesting look. Maybe too heavy?
Has this stock been used/outside much since it was finished? Curious on how well the purpleheart is holding colour or if it has started to fade yet
