Took this one out in the sun yesterday, thought you guys my enjoy. I am getting closer to shipping it out. I am kind of sad to see this one go. But hopefully the winner of the raffle will enjoy it.

Also thought it was interesting to see some of my stocks compared to one another-another cool bit of information is all the wood in pictures of the collage are all from the same tree.

Good luck! It looks great! I bet it’ll shoot as good as it looks! Me? I’m crawling on this one. I’m replacing windows in my house. It’s supposed to rain tomorrow so there is hope. I got a couple hours on it today.

A new blank arrived today! Excited to get to work on such a beautiful piece. A friend of mine from college saw some of my work on instagram, then reached out to me to craft him a stock. He and I shopped for blanks for the better part of a month before finding this piece.

There is a defect, but that shouldnt be any issue once I cut it with the bandsaw. I can't wait to see what I can do with this piece! :)

Considering I forgot my front rest, it seems to be a hammer. Actually broke my 5 shot personal best with this shimmed wobbly bag. Shot the Berger 105 and 80's great with IMR 4895.
Well done bud, I love that stock. The stripes are stunning! Great shooting!

Yes, that will be a nice one.

I wanted to try a clear coat on this stock. I don’t own a spray gun set up and I sucked at it when I borrowed one. Thanks to Bc for the spray can ideas but I’m bad at that too. I used to use epoxy on boats so I figured I’d try that. I got a suggestion from my old epoxy supplier to try this product because it’s perfectly clear. $60 for the kit. You just brush it on. I use the cheap throw aways. I used about a quarter of it on this stock, so figure $15 for the finish. Pretty cheap.

I made the spinner from an old gear motor. If you put a thick coat on without the spinner you get runs and drips. Parts of the first coat got sucked into the laminate so I sanded it with 120 and put on a second coat. Even with the tent, there are a couple dust puckers. I can live with it.

I forgot to mention that the pot life, using the medium hardener, is 20 minutes so plenty of time for application. It sets tack free in 3-4 hours and full cure at 3-4 days, depending on temperature.
