I live in rural Arizona, my office is just outside Phoenix and we do a large amount of work in Hawaii. The way these three areas have handle the pandemic is totally different. At my home in rural Arizona very few of us wore masks, followed CDC guidelines etc. At our office place outside Phoenix most everything shut down except essential businesses, that area has lightened up and masks aren’t required unless an individual business asks its patrons to wear one. Hawaii is by far the one place I’ve been too that is being very very vigilant in how it’s dealing with Covid, they take it to another level. The people that live in those three places are also in very different frames of minds. Those in my home at rural Arizona are in pretty good spirits, I can’t think of any business that are gone and it feels almost like pre Covid. The people I’ve interacted with around the office area in Phoenix are starting to get back to normal, there a few businesses that didn’t make it but people are doing pretty good. Then there’s Hawaii, stress levels are high, people are tired of it all and there are several businesses that didn’t make it. They are paying dearly in many regards.
When Covid hit we stayed working in Hawaii as lomg as we could but by the first week of April, 2020 we flew back home and shut down operations, everybody continued to be paid for the next 5 weeks and me and my partner were trying to act in good faith. We didn’t know where this was going. It became my personal opinion as I watched things unfold that Covid was being used as an agenda for people to control other people and after shutting things down we went back to work. We were lucky and had work in Arizona and government job that continued moving forward In New Mexico. We eventually got cleared to work in Hawaii again too. I have flown back and forth from Hawaii to Arizona many times and the difference between the three places I mentioned are huge. I’m grateful I live in rural Arizona, I don’t think I could handle the constant whatever you wanna call it where regulations are strict, I feel for those who have lost so much, it heartbreaking.
As far as the vaccine goes I feel like if you want it get it. If your in the high risk age group or have other health conditions that put you at risk then by all means take precautions, get the vaccine and do whatever you feel makes sense. I also hope people understand someone like myself, who refuses to get vaccinated, I don’t feel comfortable with it, developed very quickly. When this started I was worried about bodies in the streets, no room to store bodies etc. I just haven’t seen that, I know a few people who have contracted Covid, all but two recovered quickly. I am aware that many have lost loved ones too. If you’ve lost someone to Covid my sincere condolences.
Ive heard the arguments on both sides and respect both sides, at least I respect those without an agenda, those who are sincere about how they feel. Sadly I don’t think everyone is sincere. I think too many use it for political or personal gain. I’ll continue to follow my gut. What has happened to our economy, what has happened in regards to people becoming dependent on government checks, much of what has happened is far worse than the disease in my eyes. I travel every two weeks back and forth, I’ve seen a lot of areas and just haven’t seen what I hear about in some areas of the country. As far as stats and numbers I put little faith in anything put out by the government, there are too many games being played, too much corruption at every level. Just my opinion, I’m well aware That others feel very differently and that’s ok too.
