Digging Deeper into COVID-19

you make an important point.
the trend seems to be that if one man commits an atrocity with a gun
all gun owners must suffer.
in this instance, those with compromised immune systems and poor physical condition are dying in droves, ... so the millions of the rest of us have to live a miserable existence ? and grant even more authority to a government that already functions beyond the constitution?
Remember, most people who got the corona cooties (by and incredibly wide margin) DIDNT die from it!

If you think I want what you describe, you drastically and quite disappointingly misinterpret my words. With "at risk" people in our family, we're quite happy self-quarantining. We aren't going out in public spaces anyway, so what would we care if everyone else was "life as usual?" Yet our circumstances make it easy to avoid people. Not everyone has that luxury, but that isn't my problem either. So don't misinterpret my words and try to paint me as a person that wants the government involved. I don't.

In my opinion, the government needs to get out of the "safety" business all together. Individual responsibility needs to make a come back.

this link is something that needs to be watched

If this is the you-tube on Dr.Mikovits, problem I have is that she wrote a book about what this video is about. makes me stop and think, how many people went out and bought the book after seeing the video

her credibility would mean more IMO, if no book was fro sale. just seems like a slick promo

It hasn’t been very satisfying to me seeing tables and maps telling me bloody obvious facts like New York has a lot of COVID19 cases and Wyoming doesn’t have very many. No kidding? o_O I kept hearing praise about SD’s management of the pandemic (no lockdown, tastes great!), and not-so-good things about FL (closed their beaches too late), but what about the effects of total population and population density? I’ve been to both states many times, and I’m pretty sure FL is a wee bit more crowded than SD. Plus there’s a lot of southern FL (and LA) that probably gets counted as land but maybe all that swamp shouldn’t be counted. If your house floats or you wish it could or you have to raise it on poles that sounds offshore to me. Hell, Houston feels kind of offshore lately.

I used some basic public data sources to analyze the impact of population and population density on COVID19 cases in the USA jurisdiction lands. A data table and three charts are attached. The analyses show some interesting surprises. Of course nobody knows how many people actually contracted the disease while making a visit to another state (FL or TX @ Spring Break) and then tested positive after they got back home ( to NY / NJ / PA). Still, I’ll bet it will surprise nobody that the greatest outlier in terms of per capita disease rates is the home of our fearless leaders in Washington DC! Somebody is taking very good care of them using our money! NY doesn’t look great by comparison with even their neighbors MA/CT/RI, but if you consider that the real population density of Gotham is skewed far downward by a lot of near-empty land upstate, I can’t knock them too hard. FL actually looks pretty good, as well as TX and CA. On the other hand, when you consider population density, LA doesn’t look to good, nor does SD.

Another thing I can see in the data are about 6 states that are above ~0.7%+ of the total population in terms of case counts, and most states are still down around ~0.2% of the population. The few states with the higher per capita case counts show the rest of us what can happen, so keep following the mitigation guidelines and keep using the loads of common sense that I believe most people on this forum have. Stay home as much and as long as you can afford to. Reminds me of some famous advice that IDUNNO once said - “Keep your powder dry, and stay away from crowds”.

Full disclosure - I’m an engineer residing in SE Texas and working for a publicly traded energy company.
You don't need statistics to know that this whole thing is an overblown overreaction to ruin the economy, and it's looking like it may have been planned all along(Faucci is on tape in 2017 claiming he knows it's going to happen..), all designed as a continuation of the destroy-Trump conspiracy that started with Russian hoax, to Ukranian hoax, to this. Democrats are doing all they can to drag this out, despite the 'statistics' that show it's unnecessary. They are perfectly happy to destroy the livelihood and careers of millions of people, if it means it gives them a chance at the Whitehouse. That should scare hell out of even the most rabid leftist, but shamefully, it does not phase them. They cold not possibly care less about any of the sheeple.

(While it lasts)

I’m agree you, Hi-NV shooter, about the book thing. Just come out and put it all in the line... What stands out to me though is the massive censorship involved. Of all of the crap that hasn’t/should?/could be deleted from our ‘viewing pleasure’ ...Ask yourself why this? Why now?

Critical Thinking- the objective analysis and evaluation of an issue in order to form judgement.

EDIT: I have to say ‘I’m angry’. Angry this is happening to the world, to the people I love. Enough to alter any CT skills I may believe I have and find myself spreading the above without pause and collection. Like civility, I forget rationale, that there are half-truths. Sometimes things that we would hurt from the most we are most afraid to be true. I am really human I realize and I apologize for falling with the hysteric. The following is a very good read debunking the video at large. I usually do not play town crier.

It’s mighty convenient that today, the CDC proclaimed that masks aren’t needed any more for “fully vaccinated people”. Last week it was “you could spread it even if you are vaccinated” and “the mutations will get you”.

It’s just another trick to get more people to take the vaccine. Here in Ohio they are planning a weekly lottery with a million dollar payout for vaccine recipients. I just saw on the evening news that they are also going to offer college scholarships for vacinated youths.

Average age of actual COVID-19 death 78 years, current average life span in US 78 years. Does that make you think? In 2nd term Obama/Fauci visited Wuhan and arrange multi million dollar grant, for research of animal virus to human transmission. This is the 4th cornavirus discovered since the 60's, 2nd that supposed to have jumped the rarely seen animal virus to humans. If it had been a flu virus, no one would hardly pay attention. If a cold or flu virus no one shuts down local economies. March 2020 democrat governors received calls from Obama? Governors change state voting laws under "executive order", election laws that in some states are constitutional law?

I now have a great deal of expertise on this topic, because I've been alive in our country for the last few years.

I also have a VERY social job, and waste a lot of time talking to a wide variety of folks about this very subject.

My take-away conclusion is that an extremely low percentage of our population have a close friend or family member who has assumed room temperature as a result of contracting the COVID.

When the conversation turns to COVID, I look folks in the eye and ask, "Do you personally have a close friend or family member who has died from the COVID?"

The answer almost always comes with a puzzled look and the person says something like, "Wellllll no; but my neighbors mother in law did."

Now maybe I'm just lucky, but the fact is that I know at least five people who have died in the last year, including my own mother, and none of them died of the COVID. jd

Once it was made profitable to skew the numbers of reported COVID cases, there was no chance, no hope of being able to track actual morbidity rates. Deliberate? Probably. A booming economy, low unemployment...what can I say? Everything that was done initially to protect Americans was jeered at by Democrats. And here we are.

I cant belive that you guys are still in the covid denial reality. What about other countries that do not have any economical advantage when someone is diagnosed with covid. How do you explain Indias situation with the increased deaths clearly visable by all the burning bodies and bodies in the rivers? Just keep believing the Trump lies no matter what the evidence?

Did you even read the posts or just another knee jerk reaction?
