Difference between wipe-out tactical advantage and patch out?

Is there any difference between the two? I've used tactical advantage for a long time. It works good and the smell isn't bad. I haven't used patch out yet.

Edited to add:
The tactical advantage bottle says it leaves something in the barrel to prevent rust. Does the patch out bottle say the same?

According to the sharpshootr website, tactical advantage was made specifically to break down carbon fouling, as well as powder and copper.

The website article said the military guys they made it for were using patch out prior to tactical advantage and were having trouble removing carbon fouling from their M4 actions.

That sounds good to me. I don't like carbon rings. I'm using Reloder 16 and I heard it can cause carbon rings to show up quickly.

The article also said they don't recommend using a tight fitting patch to apply the solvent. They recommend using a bore brush to apply, then use patches only to wipe the barrel clean.

Is that what you guys are doing?

I use Patch out with the accelerator with a brush as recommended. With the accelerator you don’t need to leave it in as long before running a patch thru it. Speedy did a video on cleaning that’s on You Tube and I basically follow that example.

I do the same as Rwfish, patch out and accelerator. The quicker I clean after shooting the easier it cleans up with those two. I’ll run 2-3 wet patches and let sit for an hour, if that doesn’t do it I repeat and let sit for a longer period of time. On occasion it struggles to get the copper, when that happens I’ll go to Boretech’s copper remover.

Thorroclean is on my radar, been wanting to try it out. That being said I’m pretty happy with the Patch out and accelerator.

I saw his video. I started using iosso from his suggestion. My cleaning rod would do the stop-and-go he described, and the iosso fixed that.

I'm cleaning a never fired NIB Remington 742 in .308 from 1978 right now. Used Patch Out and Accellerator. There is old gunk from back in the day in the bore but it's cleaning up nicely. Last week I cleaned the trigger group and bolt/lug recesses at the rear end of the chamber. Gonna be a sweet birthday gift for a very deserving family member.

Not be negative but if y’all have a bore scope, you might be disappointed with wipe out.
Have you had a good experience with patch out? I don't have a bore scope, but after using iosso for the first time, I had a lot of brown on my patches.

Not really, I’ve used accelerator & let wipe out soak overnight, ran a brush through the bore many times and still had a gray ugly bore.

If you think it’s effective for cleaning a barrel, that’s all that matters.

Again I’m not meaning to be negative.

I'm fairly new to patch out and accelerator. Which comes first? Soak with accelerator then patch out? Or, the other way around.
Chicken or Egg thing

Patch out with a couple patches until they come out clean. Then brush with patch out 14 strokes, add more po and 14 more, then brush with accelerater, same brush senario, let set for 20 minutes if time permits. Then a wet patch or 2 of wipe out, then a couple dry patches, then a patch of lockeze with a few drops on it. Wipe the nose, dry the chamber..done. After getting home I clean again and let set with accelerater overnight. Clean again.
