Delta Stryker HD 5-50x56...

Don't know what else to update on it. Still a great scope. Already provided the optics and function review and provided full POA recoil test results within this thread. Very nice scope for the money.

Now that I have a Trijicon version of these scopes (also made by LOW in Japan), although in the 4.5-30x56, I would have to say that I prefer the Trijicon version for many design reasons.
I do still prefer the Delta reticle with the floating dot, but I like the knobs and turret designs a lot better on the Trijicon. Trijicon has nicer turrets with better feeling clicks, the amount of parallax adjustment is far superior to the Delta, and illumination selection is nicer. Both have great glass. But if I were to do it all over again, I would definitely purchase the Trijicon version of the 5-50x56 over the Delta. The layout and design of the Trijicon Accupower is just plain better. Plus the Trijicon has a lifetime warranty

The Sightron SVSSED10-50x60TD has the best Parallax adjustment with the geared inter wheel going and it sure has the most positive clicks I ever saw......jim

I'm sure they are very nice, but I personally do not see the benefits of that scope. Sightron made the SVSS on a 34mm tube, it weighs in at 42 oz, yet still only has 60 MOA elevation. Why not have something lighter? The main benefit of the larger 34mm tube is to allow for additional elevation adjustment. Sightron only added a bunch of weight to the scope and they are still using their same outdated reticles.

Nothing against the SVSS 10-50x60, but I think Sightron struck out there. They had a chance to hit a home run with that scope. Really wish they would have thought the design through a little better. Its especially disappointing considering the extra $1K they threw on the price tag over the original SIII. They should have given it a bunch of elevation, completely redesigned their reticle options and maybe try to cut the weight a little. Locking turrets are ok, but I would have rather seen them go with a zero stop. Not that either of those really matter in a target scope, but I just feel of you're gonna mess with the turrets, do a stop before a lock.

Funny mine has well over 70 min. of elevation, and mine was 1715 to my door where is the 1000K More than what? They are going to have more recitals this year...... Zero stop is not a big deal, besides I had it and set and I could not change it. I changed barrels and I was up the creek ..... Only issue I see is the weight..... jim

With a 30 MOA Rail the SVSSED affords about 65 MOA of elevation. - Depending on the rifle and the shooters abilities that gets a good number of calibers close to 2000 yards or beyond, which E2K proved that most shooters are the "weakest link" in that forum of shooting. (I had 53-54 MOA in at 2K at Broadwater to get me on target)
Agreed, it would have been better if it had 100 MOA. - The glass in the SVSSED IMO opinion is better than most and up there with IOR Valdada, S & B, March, NightForce and by actual users have touted it as better than some I've named.

Yes sir and I have enough elevation to shoot a 1000 off a flat rail...... lol..... jim

I know one's going on my next 1000 yd. Heavy-Gun that's in progress unless something else actually proves to be better, which IMO hasn't yet been released on the regular market. - I have two regular SVSS's (10-50x) and the glass in them are up at the top of the heap.

My svssed is the only scope I have whose optical clarity is on the same level as the NF Comp. It is also rock- solid mechanically. It is heavy, but you can work around that by choosing the correct components for a build. I too, wish that they had offered more reticle options initially, but if Sightron does heed shooters advice, and offers more choices for 2019, I'm definitely interested in another. I've pretty much tried everything available through the years, and there are many fine scopes out there. Mechanical reliability is, without doubt, the number one criteria for a competition scope, but as my eyes get older, I need the very clearest image I can get, to give me the feedback edge one needs in games where there are no spotters allowed and in many cases, no sighter shots allowed either. The svssed seems to provide this to me.

Plus a non fussy eye box and very long eye relief and the best point they shoot small, very small...... I am building a light gun now and it came at 15 lb. 9 oz. with a Borden BRMXD action and 28"HV. barrel.... jim

$1715 is definitely a lot more attractive than the other street prices I've seen. I'm sure Sightron will eventually come out with better reticles. Great to hear about the glass. Sounds like it is very nice.

The non fussy eye box and 4.5 eye relief is what I have been looking for and the glass is as good as a NF. comp. and it is way brighter and you got clicks that are positive and I hear more reticles are on the way...... jim

Curious if trijicon is also offering the .05mil clicks?

The Trijicon 5-50x56 is in 1/8 MOA clicks with SFP reticle. Dont know if there are plans for .05 mil clicks.

I have the Trijicon 4.5-30x56 in 1/4 MOA with SFP reticle and I would put it up against any scope out there at any price point. Optically the LOW Japanese ED glass is superb, low light performance is second to none, mechanical layout and design is excellent, great parallax focus adjustment that can be finely tuned at any range, turret clicks are as solid and repeatable as any of the best scopes on the market, Red and Green illumination so the thin reticle is easily visible in all lighting conditions, completely tooless turret cap removal, the capped windage turret has a half turn stop (12 MOA) in either direction so you never forget which way you rotated the turret when at the 180 degree point where Left/Right windage marks meet, and it has one of the most user friendly zero stop designs I've seen that can be set and reset at different points very easily. Truly a world class optic at a cheaper price point than other top of the line competitors.

If the Trijicon 5-50x56 is anything like the 4.5-30, I wouldnt hesitate for a second if you're in the market for a relatively affordable top end LR target scope.

I am wondering if you could help guide a decision based on Canadian pricing.

Sightron SIII SS 30mm 10-50x60 Illuminated - $2,149

Delta Optical Stryker HD 5-50x56 - $2,275

Trijicon Accupower LED 5-50x56 - $3,499

The Stryker seems the best deal, but wondered what others thought.

Delta is a very nice scope, but Trijicon is awesome. I like the reticle better on the Delta (perfectly sized floating dot), but mechanical features are much better on the Trijicon and that's what really counts in my opinion. Dont know why theres such a big price gap between the two? I know Trijicon recently did a price hike on the Accupower line, but that gap you show seems excessive. In the states, the new retail price for the Trijicon after the hike is $1899 USD. Used to be about $1700. Cant actually get the Delta in the states yet. I got mine from overseas through optics-trade.eu. I paid $1609 USD plus shipping

I hear the new Sightron SVSS is a really nice scope. Tho I've never looked thru one. Heavy as a damn brick, but everyone seems to rave about the new glass in them. Might be your best bet if weight isn't an issue. Of course the Delta and Trijicon are not light scopes by any means either. Only downside to the Sightron would be a boring reticle and less vertical adjustment. Just depends on what you need as to whether that will work. For ELR, the Sightron is a little lacking, but for 1k to maybe even 1400 it will probably be fine with most cartridges using a compensating base.

I get what leddslinger means about the lack of elevation vs say the NFs or Trijicons for the 34mm tube. Yours may have over 70 but specs don't state that number. The scopes that state 100 moa also may have over 110. You won't get 110 from the Sightron stating 60 moa. There are just things that some guys want to see for the extra 1000.00 over the 30mm 10-50x60 SIII. The SVSS 34mm is 1000.00 more than it's 30mm brother. Crazy for only getting a 34mm tube. I love Sightron as most have seen my reviews of them. I understand what leddslinger means regarding the up cost. He's dead on.

Would you pay 50% more for the Trijicon over the Delta?

I could get the Kahles K1050 with crosshair dot for 10% less than the Trijicon, which would be another option if I see the value.

Ledd Slinger - Thank you for the excellent detailed insight into the Delta Stryker 5-50.

I was in the research phase and ready to pull the trigger and order one to replace the Ares ETR on my Vudoo mainly for 100/200 benchrest shooting.

The Delta MOA floating dot reticle looks great, though the Trijicon is similar to my Ares MOA reticle which works. Your comments on the Trijicon controls and their US warranty service make it the logical choice.

Have you or anyone actually had a chance to verify the 5-50 Trijicon controls are similar in feel to the 4.5-30? The Trijicon 5-50 has a capped windage turret vs the Delta's exposed. Does the Trijicon elevation turret lock?

B&H Photo who I've bought most my Canon lenses from currently has the Trijicon for $1,769.

Thanks again.

If you go to the Sightron site the SVSSED 10-50x60 TD and read the specs it plainly says 60min windage and 70 min. elevation.... jim

Saying that he may have 75 moa with a published 70 moa model but he'll never see 100 moa like the Triji or NFs 34 mm tube scopes. I'm a big Sightron fan but it is what it is.
