Deer with 6BR?

So who shot deer with the 6BR this year? If you did what bullet did you use and how did it perform? You can also provide velocity and distance.

I am thinking of using it next year.

My neighbor, good friend, and hunt'n buddy used his 6mm light bench gun for deer this year. Why I'm not sure, something different I guess.
Any way, he droped a nice doe during Pa rifle season, at about 100 yards, maybe a hair over, with a 58 grain Hornady A-max, at apx. 2800 fps
It was a deliberate head shot, the doe was broadside but her head was quartering away. The bullet entered about 3/4" behind her right ear and exited her left eye socket.
Needless to say no blood trailing was needed.

Hi
I have shot roe deer with my 6Br using a 80 grain Berger bullet. I shot her through the ribs at 154 metres and she went down on the spot.

Dogfox

105 amax, 2840mv

40 yd, doe head shot, DRT
200 yd, Spine shot, DRT
400 yd double lung broadside, exit, lungs mush, stumbled 25 yds.

Looking to use 90 swift, 80 TTSX, 85 TSX, and perhaps 90 Etip on future deer. Also, 95 btips.

Kills them well with shot placement, as a 243 and 6mm Rem been doing a long time.

85 Speer SPBT with a BC of .4 works very well on aussie hogs upto 200 lbs
so I see no reason for them not to work on deer the same/similar weight or smaller
should work well on heavier deer as well as deer usually dont have an inch or more of hard dried mud on their shoulder plates to get through first like hogs do

Thanks for the replies! I think the 6BR will be used for some deer next year. I may get a coyote or two before winter is over.

I killed a ~130lb whitetail @ 308yrds with the 90gr berger pushed @ 3050fps. Entered just behind the right shoulder, pinholed) & exited middle of the left shoulder,~50 cent piece). Deer ran ~60yards pooring blood the entire distance. Lots of nasty on the inside. I thought the bergers would have been harder.

This is a Berger 95 VLD...shot thru a 160lb whitetail ..guarterin shot...front shoulder thru the body and out the ribs....destroyed all internal organs etc....retained wt 60gr.....can you tell it is a Krieger four groove bbl.,grin)...Roger.
PS...oopsss...I forgot ...range aprox 210yds...MV aprox.3090fps

Thanks again for the replies! Those are both good reports and good pictures of the recovered bullet. I shot 1 deer this year with a Berger,140gr 6.5) and it performed well. I am not sure what bullet I plan to use next season in the 6 BR. It may well be the Berger!! I have plenty of confidence it would perform.

My next two deer loads for 6BR will have an 85 x or TSX and the 95 Ballistic Tip. Again, see my post above, shot placement rules.

I just bought 150 80gr TTSXs -- they have practically the same BC,0.331) as the 85gr TSX, can be driven a bit faster, and should expand a little quicker.

The biggest bull elk I have ever seen was shot by a little woman with a baby and a .243 at 200 yards.

I looked at the elk and looked at her and she said,'I hit it in just the right spot.'
