My wife needs to see this.View attachment 1127092
I’ve been waiting for cooler weather and took on a boat ramp that I’ve always wanted and needed. Now work is pouring in because it’s hunting season. Lol Going to mow my clover tomorrow afternoon before a big rain weekend! Life is good but I’m really sore after this. Lol
My wife needs to see this.
She cant understand why i wont haul loads of gravel in my truck.
Today is the last day of our general archery season.Oh man o man I’m just now getting recovered from that shoveling. Lol My bow has been in the archery shop getting new limbs and now I’m back on the hunt tomorrow morning after I get it sighted in today.
Goddarn climate change,I'm telling you it's true, changes every day or two. It's been a weird bow season here.
We've been getting off n on rain last week or so. Generally were dry and don't see rain till middle of September.
Typical here this time of year. We pretty much have a monsoon every spring and fall but all summer long is arid as can be. 2-3" of rain expected today and tomorrow. Pretty typical this time of year. Big bucks went hard horned around Sept 5-10th. Year and a half olds still sporting velvet. By Oct 1st, they'll all be bone. It's been a weird bow season here.

And man is that the greatest time of the season or what ? Pre- rut, Rut. Both great times to be in the woods with a bow.
Sounds about par with most of the Midwest deer woodsOur action doesn’t kick in until around end of October with November being the best part. I can’t stay out of the woods when the deer are searching for each other. We’ve been in the 90’s all week but it’s dropping tonight into the 50’s so that’s my cue to start hunting!
Oh yea, night time the best time to go, everybody else is sleeping.
+1 on the weekday hunter. Recently retired has me ONLY hunting on weekdays. Once the rut starts I'll hunt the best days weather wise since the hunting gets better. Weekends are chore daysI’m a weekday hunter for that same reason. I go out every morning generally until noon and work afternoons and weekends during season.
Got the metal on the roof today, door landing redone and door hinges reinforced. Sweep out the innards and add a few amenities inside and I'm ready. Just need some rain for the plot.
Thanks man, the same to you. This stuff is work but what the hell, my time in the stand is important to me and I want every advantage I can give myself... good luck to you
