Deer opener

Got to my shooting hut 7pm on the 14th for the 15th opener. Spent the night so Im already waiting for deer without busting any pasture deer in the morning.
Took my savage 6x45, 85g sierra btjhp loads with my d740 nv night scope, my thermal scanner just in case coyote came around, and my 4-16x dayscope.
Put my NV scope on and by
840 pm had a pair of coyote headed my way already.
Popped a big male at 134yds, other scrammed, 3 deer in field go on feeding.
915pm I can see 4 coyote coming in as a group, a 4x4 buck takes off as thet get within 50 yards of it.
Coyote start working in the tall grass towards the creek, they are at 239 yards.
They spread out and I drop one at 125 yards, others bust off in all directions.
In my thermal I see 2 at about 300 yards, looks like they are looking for their pal, 1 is broadside, I put the D740 on it and I shoot, hear a solid hard hit.
I never find it in the tall grasses.
The other 2 are big heavy males.
7 deer in front of me all this time, they never break a beat and stay feeding in the field.
I say to myself I hope your there at 641am, legal shooting time.
I crash out in my bag till 5am, up, eat and at 615am see 4 deer feeding in front of hut as it's just getting light to see.
I wait em out and drop a nice big doe at 642am, 55 yards, base of neck shot, drops on the spot, done with deer.
I wait till 730ish to field clean it and a bit warmer.

Nicely done, you get to enjoy venison for a few months and saved a few more deer with three dead yotes, that’s what I call a win win.

22 caliber is legal here in Arizona for deer. All of my kids got their first deer with a 220 swift loaded with 60 grain partitions. Anybody who saw what that load did became a believer, some gave me a hard time and that’s ok too, their Loss. We never lost a deer and most of them were dead where they stood, crumpled. A couple ran less than 80 yards, lung shots.
