Ok thanksWhichever one you can get first in the brand and contour you prefer. Either works fine with 105 class bullets. JME. If I had to order and wait a year, I'd order a 7.5 just in case you wanted to try some of the heavier bullets.
Ok thanks that’s very good infoI would say definitely go with the 8 twist. I tried a 7.5 and a 7.75 twist and neither shot anywhere near as well as the 8 twist barrels I used. I don’t think it was just luck of the draw either, because every 8 twist I’ve ever had shot better than those 7.5 and 7.75 barrels. Same gun, same reamer, and same gunsmith.
What barrel length are the 1000 yard guys shooting dashers and bra’s with? They have set records from 7.5 to 8. Most have been 7.75 to 8 though.

Never found a reason to go over 28" with my Dashers. What barre length are the 1000 yard guys shooting dashers and bra’s with?
30”For Me .What barrel length are the 1000 yard guys shooting dashers and bra’s with?
I agree, shooting in f open midrange with it I’m not concerned about the weight and the extra length helps as you saidMy first 6Dasher barrels were finished at 28", but since have had 7 barrels finished at 31". Will not be going back to 28", and like the increased velocity of the longer barrels, which yields equal velocity from lighter charges, hence; less pressure, tighter primer pockets, and increased brass life - IME.
"26 long enough for 800m in your view?I’ve shot from 26” to 31”.
26” will work fine. Longer just helps you get into higher nodes and or lower pressure but it also depends on what powder your shooting. One of the best barrels I ever had was 27”."26 long enough for 800m in your view?
I can only choose from VV powders. What would be your first choice?26” will work fine. Longer just helps you get into higher nodes and or lower pressure but it also depends on what powder your shooting. One of the best barrels I ever had was 27”.
