dasher generic build for light gun(17 lbs)

ok...what i have is a rem 700 action, and a 12-42x night force scope....
looking at building a 1000 yd light rifle.....
( i am aware to be careful with loading a dasher built on a rem 700)

what stock ? (i have a masterclass on my current rifle)
how much bbl ?? profile and length ?

16.9 would be just fine with me...balanced....

Why do you need to be cautious building a Dasher on a R700 action?

Get yourself a 8 twist HV Brux and finish it at 28" or 29". Order a Harrells 3/4-32x1" radial brake and your good to go. You have a reamer already?

Stock wise, I like the McMillan ST-1000, but there are many other good stocks out there.

the gods of the northwest have mentiond failed 700 when poor loading practices were followed....simply they used load data for custom receivers in 700's and had some failures....

suggestions on neck and freebore..based on what bullets ?

I have put some barrels off my customs on 700 actions for gopher shooting and they seem to show pressure signs sooner?

As with anything. Work upto it until you get preesure signs. I have two trued R700 actions of my comp rifles and am able to run similar pressures and MV to mates with custom actions.
