Opinions on two action choices for next build

Once I get my 300 WSM together, I plan on gathering parts for a 338 Edge build. Right now, I'm in the research stage of the build.

Future plans for the rifle are 100 yd BR....I mean, LR Target. It's going to be my "big rifle".

So, here's what I would like to have. A single shot action with an integral recoil lug, integral rail, and a 700 Rem footprint. With the research I've done so far, it looks like that leads me to a Lone Peak Fuzion or a BAT HR. I've never owned or used a custom action, so I don't know what to really expect. I haven't called either company to get a price nailed down because I'm not ready just yet. I'm just going off of the prices on their page. Is the BAT action $300 better than the Lone Peak? I do like the multi flat receiver on the Lone Peak. Seems like it would bed nicely.

Between those two, is there one that is a whole lot better than the other? Is there another action that fits the requirements that I'm not aware of? Thanks in advance.

If those features you seek are absolutely necessary for you to be happy, you could also check a defiance deviant I believe that would also fit the bill. I just spent 15 minutes going through every action I know and none had single shot options, rem 700 foot prints, Integral recoil lug and rail. It was either one of those features or the other, not many at all had all the features you seek.

Thanks. I didn't realize that Defiance had a single shot option.

I couldn't find where Impact offered a single shot and I see how you could've read it as any rail, so I went back and edited that. Since I'm looking for an integral rail, that knocks Zermatt out.

I don't see one set up the way I want. It seems it's either, no recoil lug for glue in or the integrated lug with a screwed and pinned rail.

No Problem! At least you've got 3 extremely solid options - arguably the best in many eyes. I don't think you could go wrong either way. The feeling of a custom action compared to a factory is night and day. You're gonna love it!
