Guys
I was just thinking to myself that my current Dasher has the 107MK's a fair way down the neck, I do not know why I thinking about this right now, but it made me curious as to what the freebore is.
I got out the reamer print, and it is 0.0783. I would think that it is a little short to be optimum.
The rifle does shoot well, but the projectile has to be getting down into the doughnut area.
So, when this barrel is dusted, I will chamber it with my own reamer.
It will be the same reamer design as I have, Dowling/Asher PTG, but I will increase the freebore.
The rifle will shoot 107MK's, 105 Berger VLDs, Berger 108BT's, 105 Scenars, and maybe 105Amax. I will have to find a projectile that will shoot well out of that mix.
So, what freebore should I go for?
I was thinking at least 0.120, but maybe even longer! It will only be dedicated to these heavies.
Just a little off topic, but I was thinking of getting a second reamer cut just undersize to make a FL die also. What do you think?
Cheers
