6mm Dasher Norma freebore

Its been a proven fact that the Norma Dasher thing never worked out as expected. There was a major investment into the development and its a shame it did not work out as planned. Doing a Norma Dasher is most likely going to be a disappointment because of the inferior brass that is out there and lack of brass. Matt covered a few problems with the brass. Good luck to anyone wishing to explore it, lol. I highly doubt you will find any competitive 1k shooters running a Norma. If you do, most likely they are fairly new to the game...

As for the freebore thing...when people talk numbers, the freebore depends on other case dimensions. Its not a standard dimension. I personally like a shorter freebore on a reamer and cut the FB in a separate operation to a dummy.

If a shooter wants easy load and shoot...do the standard BR or AI. With the AI, the case still needs to go through fireform steps.

Pashooter I’m sorry your post blew up with no help to your question. I’d say go with what you feel is right and see what happens. Sometimes the “expert” advice given on here isn’t always the best, but sometimes there is good info. Hope your dasher is a tack driver
His post didn't blow up till you posted. He had plenty of good answers and reasons from some of the best Dasher shooters in the country. They told the good and the bad. I guess it bothered you though. Sometimes alot of money can be saved if you listen to the experience. Most of them have been down that road and spent plenty of money learning what was good and what wasn't. Most the Dasher shooters tried the Norma brass when it came out and they know. Most wont tell because they dont want to bash a company.

I guess some just can't handle the truth. Matt

1 I’m not your buddy! 2 I’m far from little man disease.... I guess assumptions are your strong point. I’m still waiting for you to post your “help” if he wants to go down a certain road that’s up to him. His money his time what does it matter? Some learn better by trial and error. If you are so “experienced” then why not just answer his question regarding freebore. Or are you just waiting for your moment to shine and point out where he’s wrong instead?

So far you are correct about ONE thing, I am NOT your buddy. Your reading comprehension needs some work as if you would read my first post I stated that a 104 free bore works as well as why.

As far as my moment to shine, I’ve had it and it was in real life not on a damned Internet forum. Like a lot of other guys, I’ll go crawl back in my hole so keyboard warriors can have their sunshine. Thanks for your critiques punkin’.

Here is an example of another case showing a .130fb. You can see by these 2 prints it starts at the case mouth. Anything from a .104 to a .155 will work fine for any case with a 105class bullet.

9AB73DC9-AD2E-4D5F-BB51-66B22EECBE34.png To answer the OP’s question again, here is a reamer print of a norma dasher with a .104fb. As you can see the fb is measured from a point that starts at the case mouth. Its labeled “lead” on this print. So it doesnt matter if the neck was .200 longer a .104fb is the same whether its a br or a 6mm rem- the bullet will protrude the exact same amount (will be at different points IN the neck but its the same outside)
