Shoot some groups then bed it and shoot some more, post your resultsJust purchased a Cz 457 mtr model,ARA factory rules allow the gun to be bedded in the factory stock, should I have it bedded or is everyone leaving them factory and just torquing the action screws?
That is my plans is something to fill the gap when I’m not shooting 600 matches I’ve found some ARA matches close byVery interested in this post. I have a 457 MTR on order. i am going to play in the 50-100 yard game.
If it cleans Ara factory targets at will, where are you ranked im agg currently, that sounds very impressive. I'm guessing you have to be at the top of the rankingsJust shoot it. My 457 mtr is unbedded still has factory trigger. It will clean ARA factory targets at will. Shoots great on unlimited targets also. Here are a few non cherry picked targets. From 50 yards to 150 yards. If you want to see more pics look up my thread in this forum.View attachment 1457642View attachment 1457643
Well i dont have the time to shoot these sanctioned matches and national matches or i would and i would imaginei would rank pretty high up in scores unless something catastrophic happened plus i never said anything about me shooting them. What i do is try to keep it fun for myself i am tired of competing in sports and hobbies as it takes away from the fun for me and turns it into more of a job.. What i do shoot and have time for is a monthly match at our local club shoot its for fun on a day i can usually get away. The shoot is ran the same as a sanctioned match and i have shot more 2500 scores with high x counts than anyone i know at the club. Been told by a bunch of shooters to go compete, This includes a shooter i have shot with who held a ARA factory target record and also i believe he won the California ARA factory class title in 2022 for the year for outdoors maybe it was the nation aggregate notreally sure as i dont remember or pay to much attention or follow all that stuff. the Past few shoots i started shooting cheap bulk loose packed ammo to keep it fun and interesting to my surprise that still shot good enough for me to still win the shoot. Anyways feel free to look up my thread on this forum to see all the test and targets i have shot. Just shoot it. My 457 mtr is unbedded still has factory trigger.
If i felt there was a need for a aftermarket trigger i would get one. Factory one breaks clean and pretty consistent around 2.7 pounds. I am use to triggers in the 2 to 3 pound range so pull weight is not a issue for me. Curved shoe feels ok for my finger. I also hold my rifle like my centerfires firm and into my shoulder. I could see a trigger if i shot free recoil or was someone who barely holds the rifle but for the way i shoot it would just be a waste of money for me. My targets show the factory trigger is more than enough to get the job done. If it ever breaks then i will look into a aftermarket trigger but it will also be set at 2 pounds minimum.I'll tell you..... If it's legal in factory class, Get the Tmney drop in. It's
the most painless trigger installation there is. Very light and a much
better and flatter trigger. That overly curved stock trigger was'nt
getting it. I left mine set at one lb. for the grandson, and with the
flatter trigger, it feels much less.
You could just get a spring that will bring it down to 2lb range. They used to sell em at ace hardware. They are only like a couple dollars. I have put them in all my 45x. I also try to set all my triggers around 2lbs 4 oz. Targets are only practice for hunting. If i felt there was a need for a aftermarket trigger i would get one. If your gun is legal why not shoot, I can post amazing groups all day, but to make a statement that your gun cleans factory targets at will is honestly not believable. If your gun is a factory Ara legal gun, it most likely doesn't clean the targets at will. Go shoot a few matches so we can see all those 2500s and you would get a lot more credit on this groupWell i dont have the time to shoot these sanctioned matches and national matches or i would and i would imaginei would rank pretty high up in scores unless something catastrophic happened plus i never said anything about me shooting them.
