CZ 600 Series!

Ill agree with the gimmicky sentiment. The mini action is available in 3 chambers currently none of which are on my list of desired calibers. Sorry 7.62 x39, 224 Valkyrie & 223 are not checking any of my boxes. 6.5 Grendel & 6mm ARC on the other hand would catch my interest.

Suppose a few gunsmiths may eventually step up to the plate, though acquiring a barrel in the calibers I fancy looks to be too far out for my blood. Would seem the barrel locking lugs in the barrel will drive up barrel cost & limit sources in a substantial fashion. Thus from my perception availability of barrels may be extremely limited & or costly.

Like the look of the folding stock version as a handy packing but otherwise I'm not so impressed.

Like others have said, I will miss the CZ550 and the CZ527 (Really enjoy my little 527 American in .223 Rem, just a hoot to shoot).

Between myself and my father have quite a few Brno Model 2s, CZ452s CZ527s and CZ550s it's a real shame.

Scrummy

Miss it? I'm doing a 375 H&H at this time on a CZ550.
I have CZ550 in 375 H&H. Absolutely love it! This is a factory stock, looks like a grade 3 walnut. Accuracy is very good with everything from 270 to 350gn pills

Forgot to say, CZ have made a 6.5 Grendel before so might well show up.

Scrummy
When they get around to offering 6mm Arc I may have a hard time resisting. In the mean time I look forward to 1st hand reports. Saw a 6 Creedmoor available yesterday that had me thinking.

Personally I had scratched most itches I had with the CZ 527 will not miss that line up much. Though may be sorry that I won't be able to share the 527 action with many, up & coming shooters due to lack of availability.

FYI, there's been a recall already:

Looks like their method of connecting the barrel to the receiver wasn't adequate (not surprising). They'll now PERMANENTLY mount the barrel, completely negating one of the key attributes of this design. ( I know to many here that permanent is not real, but this is their language)

Guess they didn't test and validate well before launch (MBAs running product development?). What a complete SNAFU.

Lost the 550, 527, and 557 for this.

I wish there wasnt even a market for these downward spiral of cheapness manufacturing engineer’s dreams.
Right. Cuz getting bean counters involved has been so successful for other companies. “Hey look at all the guns Company X is selling. Lets cut all the corners and get a piece of the action”. So instead of owning a select section of the market CZ wants to bang heads with all the other manufacturers (almost all of which have declared bankruptcy) and fight over pennies. And golly now all the guns are being recalled. CZ has squandered a lot of their good reputation. Sad.

I love the CZ 527s and 550s. I had been wanting to pick up a 527 to build a .17 Ackley Hornet. Luckily, I found one new in box at a local shop and got a steal on it. Now seeing what they are selling for, it has me tempted to get rid of it. Its amazing how missed the 527 already has proven to be by prices.

Lets face all products are designed for an age demographic that doesn't include most of us. They have to be to sell to the people who do most of the buying. I was given a walk around with the TC switch barrel rifle by a friend and this looks light years better. Why is it I feel fine shooting an aluminum frame AR but this kinda makes the hair on the back of my neck stand up.

Ones proven and the other is not

I am not impressed with the majority of the CZ 600 series. I own several traditional CZ rifles, and I don't think these new rifles have anything to offer that the older models don't already have. That said ! I do like the 600 Trail, it's a neat design with an amazing fully adjustable trigger. I own a .223 version and I'm very happy with it's tough carbon fiber construction, the quality is as good as any other CZ I own.

It's a real practical little thing that shoots at least as well as any AR with a 16" barrel and uses AR mags
