Cz 600+ range or tikka super varmint

I’ll probably just go with a tikka used in 6.5 cm, I have found one very reasonable priced local. The price of most others is getting close to used custom prices and I just don’t want to go that route.

I like cz and I have several, but I have 5 Tikkas and like them better. They shoot great out the box, but they also have tons of aftermarket support including shouldered prefits.

I have a varmint and super varmint. I would see if you can find the regular varmint. They haven't been importing them for about 2 years, but last time I looked I think there was a bass pro and cabelas exclusive only available in 6.5 creed and maybe 308.

Another way to go is find the cheapest one you can get and put a prefit on it and a chassis.

The super varmint is just way over priced. The 2 stage trigger is not as light as the regular one. I feel the fluted bolt is not as smooth. Still have a mediocre stock. Threaded barrel doesn't matter since all tikkas are now threaded.

6.5 would be good and I may end up going that way , I have had a couple in the past and they shot well. Not that I need it but I just wanted to try the 6 cm. It’s That rabbit hole disease ya know.
Yes, I know. More than once, I talked myself into buying something when a small voice inside said, don't do it. When I was younger, I guess this was part of the "fun" in the sport.

Here's one for you. Back in the early 80's when I was an avid groundhog hunter with a revolver, I talked myself into buying an S&W Model 27 357 Magnum with an 8 3/8" barrel. I already had the 6" model which performed perfectly but I got infected with the "rabbit hole disease".

Fortunately, I didn't trade my 6". Longer story short, I found the 8" version so better performance wise with the added burden of carrying a heavier and longer pistol it in the field on a side holder. I was lucky since I was able to sell it and get most of my investment back.

Perhaps the experience has some value since I learned that if it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)

These days, I'd look hard at the Super Varmint. Or maybe the Ace if you want a chassis gun, two versions of that, the target version uses TRG mags, heavier barrel than what the TAC A1 has, which is same as CTR, game version takes regular Tikka mags, may be same as TAC A1 bbl, weight on gunn is pretty close, haven't handled one yet.. Yo Dave's or McCarbo springs may get trigger light enough, depends what you want from them. If you really want, you can get the set trigger from Tikka too, stuff that in there.

Have Super Varmint in 6.5 CM as a range rifle. Chose to leave the action in the OEM Roughtech stock. If I don’t screw up the shot and get the scope doped right, it will stack multiple hits inside a 3” gong at 500 with good regularity, and that’s with factory ammo ( particularly Hornady’s American Gunner 140 grain. ). Typical Tikka. Have no clue as to how it compares to the CZ as I’ve never seen, held, or shot one.

I like the super varmints weight but as rabbitslayer stated they are overpriced, with tax you are getting up to a good used custom price. I am a tikka fan but bought all of mine back before they went up, great factory guns. Wished they chambered a 6cm though.
