cz 457 varmint mtr

Just a heads-up for CZ owners. While reinstalling the barreled action after replacing the original trigger, I noticed the plastic sleeve that the magazine comes up through, was broken. The front anchor point was apparently crushed. I have never torqued the action screws tighter than 25 ft. Lbs. That $9 part costs over $20 with the shipping. While I had the service gentleman on the line, I voiced my negative opinion of their original trigger. That apparently didn’t sit too well.
I hope you mean 25 IN/lb?

ARA Factory matches are loving the CZ's.
Factory class has to be a current production rifle that's under $1000. 457 must be the best factory shooter out there to meet this requirement.

For those interested to look up the stats I noted the process below.

Click Schedules and Results > Change Month to Sept and click submit > Find a National Tournament >Click 'Full Results" to open the dropdown > Scores and Equipment tabs will be seen to view.

Unless I overlooked, I noticed that the site only shows the equipment used under the National Tournaments.

My CZ 457 Varmint has a 45X Muller Scope and a Yo-Dave trigger spring, along with a slight tweek of sear engagement for a 11-12 oz. trigger pull. With a EMG cantalever bag rider and it's favorite RWS R-50 ammo it easily groups sub-0.5" at 50 yards when I don't screw it up. I am hoping to clean an IBS BR-50 target next chance I get. It can't quite beat my Walther target rifle but can stay with my Savage-Anschutz one. Other CZ owners are also very competitive with their rifles.

Thanks, just noticed mine was the same. Front screw hole was broken. I dont know why I didnt see it sooner. It does blend in with the part. I was also focused on other issues.

The new trigger has been weight tested this week. Using the digital Wheeler scale, a ten shot string averaged 2.6 oz. If the wind settles down in the next few days, I hope to give it an extended test session.
