CZ 17 hornet

Been looking at the CZ 527 17 hornet, problem is there are 2 of them on the shelf. One is a varminter and the other is an American with nicer wood. I suppose if I wait long enough one will be gone then I won't have to choose between the 2, just take whats left ;D

My varminter had nice wood - which quickly warped without being subjected to damp or wet weather. Now has my favorite wood on it - synthetic! Even the varminter version of this rifle is VERY light for a varmint rifle.

Guess it depends on your shooting style....colony rodent shooting or walkabout for chucks. BIG difference in which rifle I'd buy, regardless of wood quality.

My CZ 527 American in 221FB will never see my field bench when in a hot squirrel patch, as it's home in the safe. There will be a HB rifle on the bench that day. But when I'm ready for a casual morning of cruising the junipers along irrigated fields snoopin' for rock chucks, that little CZ is my best friend. :)
