Crows in PA.

Jesse Jackson update:
Thanx for all the replies fellows. It's saturday night and still no sign of Jesse. I've combed the hedgerow where he disappeared, looked high and low, drove around, etc. to no avail. I saw a cat last night and hope Jesse didn't fall prey to a cat; I'm not sure a cat would tangle with an adult crow. I will leave some food out tomorrow and see what happens. This would have been a rare opportunity to study a wild crow, use him as a live decoy, and learn alot about crow behaviour. As an avid varmint hunter, each time I hunt I learn a little more about the varmint I'm hunting. Gary, I'm definitely going to look into a Larsen trap; thanx for the tip. There is going to be a late February trip to Vermont for some coyote hunting in the Green Mountains. I'll keep everyone posted.

Jesse Jackson update:
Well, it's Tuesday evening and alas, I fear Ole Jesse is gone for good. This cagey corvid must have gone into a groundhog hole that I cannot see; it's the only explanation for him disappearing the way he did. As mentioned earlier, a cat was 'casing' Jesse's habitat and may have contributed to his demise. I saw this cat again last night and was sorely tempted to perforate it's cranial cavity with my .17HMR but my soft heart prevailed. That cat may be some little girl's 'Mr. Boots' and I couldn't take a chance at eliminating a possible domestic pet. Feral cats are a different story altogether. I'm going to have to get another live wild crow, that's all there is to it. I'll keep you guys posted. Incidentally, when I get another crow, he will be named Jesse the 2nd.
