Crow Season Opener

I was armed , but just a pistol , I would try one sitting still but they was on the move when I drove in . Thinking about taking my over under and 17 HMR tomorrow . But chances of one lighting close enough for that 17 after that shotgun blasts into them is probably pretty slim .
But you know how that goes too , if I don't take it there will be all kinds of stupid crows lighting in trees with in range . LOL

Well , finally got around to it this weekend . They are still laughing and eating my feed .
When I hunted them as a young man I was in a cedar thicket and would shoot them on the fly over when I called them in . Today I was in wide open hardwoods and used a a all that sounded terrible to me , but it brought a few in .
When I hunted them years ago I called them in with my mouth , but after trying a few calls at the house and giving my wife a good laugh I decided to try a call .
Took my grand dads old Remington 17 in 20 gauge he used on his trap lines and he would have my shirt tail if he was still here .
Going to regroup and try again Sunday and this time wait till they light in for the feed if I can get camouflaged good enough . They never got much closer than 40-50 yds . Couple lighted in trees 60-70 yds but too much limbs to try and get a bullet through .
Well that's the end of my excuses , Kenneth

A crow would rather feed that fight. Use their intelligence to defeat them.. easiest bird on the planet to kill if not educated.
