Creedmoor scale

I bought one when they first came out. I really like it. I check all my powder drops from my Charge Madster Lite.

My only complaint is the wind screen. I talked to Creedmoor and they agreed that the wind cover was not the best and we’re working on a better design.

I paid $299 and got the stand for $10. Overall I’m pleased with my first electric scale.

I have had mine for about 1 year now. I bought it direct from them in their store. They showed it to me and that really sold me. Speed is good. 6s to get stable When weighing or returning pan to scale. Windscreen is adaptable…easy to open a side. Check/Calibration weights are proper toleranced weights.

Drift is good. Frankly it has a very good anti-drift program. As long as you go weight to 0 to weight to 0….and so on, drift is not a factor. When you go weight to weight to weight to weight to weight, etc… drift causes the weight reading to increase about 0.05 gr over about 15 weighings. Setting the pan empty on the scale corrects the drift and goes back to accurate weighing. It really doesn’t warm up….it is always on, but you can shut off the display. It is about the best thing I have done to my reloading in a while.

There are some cons vs a more expensive scale. First, it should be absolutely level, but there is not a good way to level to the sensor. I wish it had a built in circle level, 3 pt base with 2 leveling feet. I wish it could get stable under 3s. I wish it had an add on dispenser. I also wish it were a magnetic balance….they seem to weigh better from what I read.

Anybody know why all scale windscreens have the hole in the middle?

Thanks for your help. Would you buy again or hold off for something better?

I bought mine about six months ago on sale and am really pleased with it.
I would not hesitate to buy one again if needed.
Drift doesn't seem to be an issue the way I use it, always returns to zero.
The time it takes to settle could be quicker but at the price point, not a big deal.

If I had $350 available, I’d buy that again. It has been very reliable and accurate.

If I had $650, I’d buy the fx120i.

The problem is, I wouldnt upgrade to the fx120i now. It is better, but not worth the upgrade to me.

I bought 1 about a yr ago and am generally happy with it. Weighs accurately. Mine seems to drift quite a bit. The pan weighs 132.44 grns. I can set tare wt and load very few rounds (5-8) or less and tare will drift anywhere from 132.41-132.49. My tolerance is .04 grn round to round so l have to reset tare weight fairly often. I found using the wind shield made no difference to this so l dont use it. I even put a hole in the side to put the trickler tube thru which didnt help. My old Gempro 250 drifted on me as well. The nice thing about the Creedmore scale is l can trickle into it and its very sensitive to a kernel or 2 of powder. Overall its no more accurate than my Gempro but its much faster to use. I wish it had leveling feet like the Gempro. I had to use pieces of thin rubber mat to level it. And l shut the heating/cooling off in the front of my house when using the scale as advised by Creedmore

Buy once - cry once
Between the Creedmoor TRX-925 and the fx-120i, the only thing you give up is a bit of speed and ability to link to autothrow…..but if enough people buy the trx-925, I’ll bet they get together. I spoke to the Creedmoor folks and they were interested. Spoke to Adam and he was not. That said, if the sell enough to be worth his time, i’ll bet he gets interested!

Are you placing an empty pan on the scale between weighing/trickling charges? I found doing that eliminated drift.

Have you measured stabilization time with and without? I found it made 1-2s faster with the shield.

So...I spoke to Paul at Ingenuity Precision the other day and he has electronics coming out this summer for this Creedmoor Sports scale to be able to work with his trickler...Will have its own screen and keypad. Way better than Adam's slider ramp up/down...Will be digital and utilize a settable, repeatable number foe ramp up/down...

He also has a dumper in the works thats going to be way better than Adam's, better Electronics, no loud motor noises....

Paul told me these items are slated for release this summer with electronics first then dumper towards end of summer.

I've owned and run every version of autotrickler and auto throw on FX120i...currently run a V3 auto throw and IG trickler and it's faster and more accurate than any of Adam's tricklers...sold my v4 immediately, hated it...

Good things coming and more options are always a win win for the consumer.. hope to have these items to test once they are ready.

Diy with 3d printed parts, an arduino and a motor with a gearbox wouldn't be too hard either. However, I realize for you top tier BR/F class guys time is money and diy isn't always the best.

I especially like with the output function of the scale. I have a manual auto trickler setup for for this scale. Let me rephrase, I have a push button auto trickler with multiple speeds that I created. Now I just need to add the scales data output into the arduino and make it fully auto. Probably a project for when it's 1000 degrees out and I want to hide inside with the AC going.

@padom I know who's working on the unit with him and also have seen video of it and seen an early version in person. I think it's going to be a game changer in a couple ways for people, least of which is that it gives people a lower cost of entry for a killer setup like this.

What's up man! I haven't forgot about you on that RimX barrel....still trying to decide which one I'm going to part with! Haha

Yep Paul told me he was talking to you as well and that you've done a bunch of testing with this CS scale and we're very happy with it so I have one on the way to test.

I agree, these IG products are going to be a game changer. Going to capture a large segment of reloaders that didn't want to drop the coin on an FX120i/AT setup and this is going to be better.

Hope all is well man.

Please keep us posted on all the progress. I believe you are 100% right. It will be a game changer for those that's pockets are not as deep. One of the things that gets constantly overlooked on this site is not every shooter/ Loader has the same $$$$$$$.

I am considering a Creedmoor scale as I dont own an electric scale because all electric scales are verified buy a beam scale so my trust level is low.
