Buying an Autotrickler V4: Which scale?

I still use V3 with Ingenuity Precision trickler and I'm VERY happy with that setup, never needed to upgrade to V4 and have zero experience with it but seems like a lot of guys like it
I'd definitely look into IP new system

Same here, I’ve got a Mk1 with all the Area 419 accessories to get rid of all the original plastic parts and when I added the Ingenuity trickler to the system not only did that speed up the throw time but virtually eliminated over/under throws. The sort that the original rotating tube system {this is true of any powder throw system using that style of trickler} would often drop that extra kernel or fall short. One granule of Varget = .02gr
System works just fine with the i120 scale that came with the original setup.
If buying a second hand scale I would want to know that it had seen “loving care” and that it could be shipped to me in the original packaging or that the seller would be able to triple pack it. Electronic scales are easily damaged with rough handling.
No matter which capacity A&D scale you choose you can always have repair work done on them if necessary… Unlike the scales of other systems. A&D is a leader in high end scales.
Once you set up your scale and determine that there is no electromagnetic interference {get or borrow a gauss meter} such as fluorescent lighting or in my case a fax with a phone, within the area of operation, turn it on and let it stabilise for at least half an hour or more and away you go. Perfection to the single granule rather than to a 10th of a grain.

That’s a pretty good deal that CE is running right now on the combo for Black Friday!

I’ve already ordered the scale and V4 separately though (scale from CE and V4 from MacDonald direct). Could have maybe saved couple bux, but it’s all good!

I have a v4 -120i works great I bought an extra cup added weigh to the cup twice as fast just a way to speed it up.
What? Do you mean that you introduced a second cup into the process so you can throw another charge while you’re filling a case? Or are you saying somehow that “adding weight” to the cup sped up the autotrickler?

I gotcha. Interesting idea I suppose. How do you get the cups to weigh the exact same?
You can either sand material some off the heaviest one or put tape or stickers on the lightest one to equal the same as the heaviest one. I am referring to the cup that came with the v4.

I just saw a video from Elfster’s Rifles and Reloading about this very idea. Makes sense if you need that extra seven seconds! I find that if I get too impatient while reloading I tend to mess shit up.

I took a bullet lead core squirt pound it flat placed it in the cup kept reducing the weight till it was a little on the low side used e 6000 glue it on the bottom if it comes out heavy take a a knife and scrape the edge of the handle to make them of equal weight
