Red Wolves? When I was at Chas Naval Shipyard, Chas SC, late '80s and early '90s, DNR was proud as hail that they had a breeding pair, maybe two on a small island, N of Chas. Articles in the paper periodically.

I just Googd it. Down to 14 they say, no idea how many breeding females, Cape Romain, Bull's Island.
"TIME IS RUNNING OUT"..... so it said. Yawn. Dated late '20.

The seeding of red wolf in NC has been a cluster**ck. It. ruined landowners lives when they bred big time with coyotes and you ended up not knowing what you were looking at any more. The end result is that Coyotes could not be shot either because they might be 2% red wolf, Lord help the landowner when the Feds decide they know more than the landowner about breeding, They should have large lawsuits on them that stop this strong-arm action.
