Coon in the sun

Guy rents a house from me. Catches coons and he left this one in the sun. Yep a nocturnal animal in the sun, in a cage. Real bright. I felt sorrow for him and gave him three bottled waters.
Have a close look at his feet. His right leg has one toe. The other looks like he has mange.

Some people have no sense! I understand that coon can be destructive, but that doesn't mean treat them poorly. God created them, just as he did us. I would rather see a person dispatch one then torcher it.

Agree with that. That’s why I gave him water. He gives to a friend that feeds em and eats em. NP with that but dont leave the animal out in the sun.

The coons in the upstate of SC must be different than on the coast. Ours down here feed based on the tide, not the sun, because more food is available as the tide goes out. But, that's neither here, or there, with this post.

I HATE it when the coons find my sweet corn and I kill them on sight when I see them. I tried trapping them with those dog proof traps. But, after seeing the vegetation around the trap chain cleared to the dirt in a circle because he had been pulling to get away, and seeing the coon passed out from exhaustion, I figured I should just plant more sweet corn. It was a sad sight.

It actually tells people I have a soft heart concerning suffering. It also says that when I perform a dispatch - it's quick and painless.

Trappers are a different cat so to speak. A large number of the trappers I have known personally are motivated by outsmarting the animal. And I suppose the animal isn't in their trap very long.

I like to trap coons and coyotes...hence my forum name. Regardless of the animal I trap or hunt I can’t stand to see one suffer or tortured. No need to leave one in a cage for extended period like that.

Yes I didn’t like seeing him in cage. He looked me right in my eyes I felt bad for him. Poor thing and with his feet all screwed up he’s had a rough time. Either kill em or release him. Some people.
