I noticed the same thing about the ProShot rods. The jag will unscrew so the bearings aren’t working as well as they could be. I’m considering the bare Dewey rods.I’m using Dewey coated with the regular aluminum ferrule and recently bought a plain SS Dewey. I didn’t know they made replacement handles OR bare SS till this year. I’m using the coated with patches and the SS for brushes.
Boretech- nice handles, coating sucks.
Pro shot - SS rod is nice, handle won’t spin when pulling brush back.
Tipton CF- brass ferrules suck, handles are decent but so heavy it’s hard to balance rod and it ends up on the floor.
Montana- didn’t like the handle, gave it away
Always heard about Ivy but was not able to find where to buy them.
Jags, seem to make or break it for me as far as how much I like the rod. I’ve been a big fan of the Boretech jags. I’m using the 22 rimfire jag with 1.5” squares for 6mm.
I like the bare Dewey. Probably purchase another in the future.I noticed the same thing about the ProShot rods. The jag will unscrew so the bearings aren’t working as well as they could be. I’m considering the bare Dewey rods.
Dave.
