Cleaned up my damaged barrel threads from FedEx fumble!

Before and after pics from my barrel damage courtesy of FedEx and made this barrel repair by myself. This is a 22 Hornet barrel threaded for Savage & chambered by Fred from 4 D Reamer. Used a thread file and cleaned up the threads and touched up the chamfered edge just a bit. Hopefully this will work now, I just need to find a bolt face for my savage to fit this 22 Hornet, since FedEx lost that too!

Working through adversity, I like that a lot! When I was an apprentice the journeyman I was working with told me. "You and I are going the F things up till the day we die, being a first-rate carpenter is figuring out a way to fix and completing that task before anyone finds out." Truer words were never spoken, and it being FedEx's mistake makes it even sweeter.

A good carpenter can cover up his mistakes. The cement guy is screwed.

I guess I'm the 'odd one out' again.

Why didn't 4D install a thread protector and package it better, especially if there was a bolt face in the package that's lost?

A bit of Filament packaging tape on the barrel ends and on the ends of the box would have taken 5 minutes and saved A LOT of trouble and time.

I also wonder why the barrel wasn't protected better by the shipper. Doesn't look like great care was taken, but I'm a real bug about packing stuff for shipment.
Yeah it was lacking, wasn’t intentional but some people just don’t take precautions and over pack like rest of us.
