Classified Sales Very Slow - Why Do You Think

I normally just use the classifieds if looking for something specific.
i already know what I'm willing to pay for it. If someone posts for
a higher price, that's fine. I just let the post run for awhile. I don't
bump up so it's a pain in the azz to search as it moves down the
line 40 pages later. I try to by cryptic in the header so it's easy to
find by using "search".......Going to be looking for "NON" VLD 7mm
bullets in the future so to give anybody a heads up. But not looking
to purchase at this moment, unless it's a smoking deal that can't be
passed up......

Grocery’s and interest rate are always out of control. I wish I could get the bank to pay me the same interest rate on my savings.
You are completely discounting what has happened over the last 4 years and talking about “the current rate of inflation”. It’s two very different things.
I seem to remember a pandemic that destroyed the supply and demand chain.

Here’s a 40 or more year old example of what I thought had been priced high.

Most of my 40-X’s lately come from a Cabela’s store, somewhere.

We can’t see the bores, they never once have included a bore scope picture. They describe them all as “bright”.

I haven’t been disappointed, but this kind of buying in the dark is risky.

The listing shows a reduced price and it’s a nice chunk, and so I bought it. It’s the same price as a new stock.

To clear the market, old items have to seem like a far better deal relative to new products.

This is a terrible reality, but honest sellers of great old items are paying the price for sellers who have passed off their known problems, which is not a perceived risk buying new inventory.
The biggest benefit with Cabela’s is while ‘in the store’ after paying you can actually return the firearm if you choose to. I verified this on a potential 40X purchase myself.

Yes, they always remind me of that. And they do not charge shipping or a transfer fee, which is nice. They go to lengths to make all their stores, nationwide, your local store for all buying purposes.

In an attempt to not turn the thread political, I haven’t mentioned the causes of the record price increases, but yes covid AND the way it was handled certainly had an effect. That doesn’t change anything that we are experiencing today. Go ahead and stick your head back in the sand where it belongs. Everything i stated was fact and all you want to do is deny and defend. I see what you are now, so I’m done here.

Dude’ don’t be rude, we’re just talking.
Here’s a view you may like better.

No, I was talking by stating my specific experience and after being called out, I responded with facts, which you deny.

Just go gaslight someone else. I’m done with you.

My first car was a "55, 2 door post, 6 cylinder, 3 on the tree Chevy. I paid $100 bucks for it in 1975. It was slick. I wish every day I had it back. Sold it for $500 bucks 2 years later. Boy did I cut a fat hog in the ass or what?

If classics are getting cheaper, I'm waiting for a 1966 GT-40 for 5 grand. Not holding my breath....
Yeah. I'm waiting for the '66 Chevelle SS 4 on the floor, 396.
