Chubby 20br

What stock is that, i really like it.
I got that stock from D&B Supply, Bill Shehane it's a wooden laminate called Desert Camo in the Tracker model and the fore end is 3" I sanded it down with 400 grit and coated it with four coats of automotive PPG Deltron. It always amazed me that after I sprayed it the fine scratches disappeared completely. I would have thought I needed to sand even finer but it came out beautifully.

@17VLD Can you post a picture of the 40 berger next to the bibs?

Aaron
39BK, 40Nosler BT,VMax, BIB, Berger, BIB the boatail on the Berger is taller but hard to see here the BIB is slightly taller overall. All shoot very well in my gun and are well suited for a BR case going 4000+ in a 12 twist. Now if we could just get a 48-52 poly tip bullet for the bigger 20s I will shut my mouth and just smile.

I took the 20br out and finally shot the 40 vmaxs,40 Berger, and the 40BIBs side by side. The vmax went the fastest followed by the BIBs the Berger was the slowest of the group all the same load of Fed205m primers and 31.0 N540 were used. I guess the bearing surface of the different bullets while not that different does matter. The vmaxs went 4086 on average while the Bergers and BIBs were right at 4000fps.I wouldn't want to live on the difference as far as accuracy goes they all knotted them up very nicely. Next trip I will test seating depth and shoot at 300 yards for a better evaluation.

Very nice.

With a barrel that large, is there any bedding forward of the recoil lug?
Yes Greg also bedded the rifle about 2" ahead of the recoil lug, He did a superb job and used pillars too. Also he bedded it with a slight upward angle so upon firing it kind of keeps the rifle tracking better. Apparently the long range guys did this trick in the day. I can sure attest to the fact that this rifle shoots, it is definitely overkill but that is what I wanted. If you study the first picture you can see what I mean, the barrel has a slight angle up.
