Cheap targets

Just thought I’d pass this along. We’ve been taking a permanent marker and coloring small reinforcement stickers from office supply stores and applying them to the back side of old blueprints. They make pretty good targets.

Free Cardboard from Costco ! Colored Dots from Staples close out isle , hard times first isle.
My Old Hunting Partner called me " El Cheapo ".
Wear it with pride! I get the same treatment when I’m picking up range brass!
I saved my old plans from when I was a builder out here in Texas, I bought a roll of brown paper at Home Depot that’s used to protect floors during construction.
I felt like I was splurging!

I keep all the good heavy cardboard and use for backers.

We used those paper reinforcements decades ago for their intended purpose only back then they were lick 'em and stick 'em. During my USAF career they were known as paper assholes. Probably "un-politically" correct today.

We have been using those the same way for several years. They are great for 100 and 200 yds with the appropriate scope. Get a wide tip Sharpie, makes coloring them in faster.

I like to hang several target sheets at a time to cut down on trips to the backstop. Not a fan of most retail targets because of the black lines or aiming dots that make small-caliber holes difficult to see from the bench. "Splatter" targets are a good idea, but that "splash" doesn't give a good indication of group size. I just use white "card stock" (8 1/2 X 11") from Amazon and self-adhesive Avery or Maco Color Coding Labels. I like the orange ones for ease of seeing and use sizes from 1/2 to 3/4" depending on what I'm shooting. You can even get 1/4" inventory dots if you want smaller. Works great for load developing so you can punch holes in the sheets to store in a ring-binder along with info.
