Cheap targets

A friend is the outlet manager of a “national” coffee chain. When they rotate their seasonal posters, I take them, off her hands, and cut them to fit the target stands at my local range.
I “occasionally” dumpster dive for the old shoot n see target dots discarded by shooters and use the 7/8” ot 1” dots...

Just......adding my contribution to re-cycling...

I use paper plates a lot, and also save all the big cardboard boxes for target backers. I will say that one thing I have learned over the years - "Smaller dots mean smaller groups". I bought a box of 1" square target pasters from Sinclair years ago. I often aim at the corner of the square depending on what scope I am using. It makes a difference.

I agree with paper plates, and scrap cardboard.
I get even cheaper with felt tip markers, and buttons, coins, washers, etc for templates.
The smaller, the better, as long as they remain visible.

I use 8-1/2 x 11 card stock in my inkjet printer. You can make any size/shape target you want with MS Excel.

Election signs work pretty good too for something to hang your targets on.

Especially if they have pictures on them, Ha Ha!!

Let’s move this up.

Been eyeballing these for awhile. Decided I’d buy these as I’m about out of target stickers, and don’t want to burn through a bunch of paper targets.

Uline has these inventory labels. 1/2” through 4”, 1000 each. There is a 2 roll minimum. They stick far better than actual stick on targets. Just got them today; I’ll use them next range trip.

I usually shoot the free targets that come with the range fees. MR1C or LR-FC. Best part is they get changed for every shooter if needed.

If I'm testing at 100 or 200, again I use the free target but turn it over and just put 1/8" dots or a line with vertical hash marks with a sharpie.

Here - you got these for free. Print 'em on whatever you want.

These are very good for load development. I print them out on my laser printer on inexpensive copy bond as needed. A color inkjet allows one to indulge their color preferences. The diamond orientation helps with crosshair alignment and the grid squares are .25 inches on the current page setup. Easy enough to modify to suit your needs. I use this target configuration at 200 yards with my competition rifles and 100 yards for other stuff, assuming the optics are up to resolving a .5 inch diamond.

When I go to the local range, I have a target back that is a 2inch thick piece of very hard foam for archery I use and attach sheets of cardboard to, then my targets. Stuff is amazing. It's taken literally 1000's of 223 rounds and is still fully functional. Pull the cardboard/targets off when done and reattach to foam. I put a strap on it to be able to hang it from posts at the range.

Cardboard boxes from delivery make great targets. For .22 and .25 I like to use tin or aluminum cans pilfered from the recycling bin.

Cardboard boxes make great backers. Furniture and appliance stores are good sources. Think stoves, refrigerators, and flat screen TVs.

When I'm not trying to shoot groups I like to shoot at steel with 22lr at 100-250 yds. Best target I found so far is rotovator blades. They are a little smaller than a 3x5 card and flip over backwards when you make a hit. .223 and .222 doesn't phase them either, but they will flip 5 or 6 feet.
