Chargemaster or manual dispenser?

The charge master isn’t any more accurate than a normal reloading scale and trickled, but by the time you get the trickled, scale and powder measure, you’re almost at the same price. The chargemaster is a little easier in my view.

And you can load 600 yard f class loads capable of winning with a cheap scale. An FX is very much a luxury item. The diminishing return on your money is severe.

I agree totally. I sometimes have to hold it in when people tell me about their scales being so sensitive that they can detect a single kernel of powder. It only matters IF all your powder in a charge burns at exactly the same rate, and I'm betting it doesn't. BUT I do believe in being as close as a human can get. Buying a $1,200 scale and thinking it will help more than a $49.95 scale? well I don't think so...but that's just me.

I set up my Uniflow to drop into the pan of my 505 and then trickle in using an Omega trickler. I check my scale before hand with check weights but I can load some rounds quickly and accurately with my set up. I would like a tuned M5 to replace the 505 but later.

Yep, IMO a tuned set of beam scales coupled with a 20x zoom webcam will outperform a Chargemaster.

that

You'll still need the tweezers if you upgrade to the FX120 however adding Adam's Auto Trickler to the FX should speed up the process, if that is your goal.

a harrell's powder measure is a work of art. dropping.charges with one just feels.so nice. fastest way to charge cases.

but if you are looking for precision loading and speed there is no better system than Adam's Autotrickler System.

pick your poison. everything else is just second rate.

Twitchy and Petros,, Have you Re-programed your RCBS ? You can slow them down to trickle the last 1/2 grain. A lot more accurate
Yeah I have re-programed mine. I just like to verify the weights with a more accurate scale. Most of the time it is within a .02-.04 grain with the Chargemaster but there are some that come out heavier or lighter.

I can weight faster with a thrower and my ej123 scale than with a charge master . I use a small clear plastic medicine cup with the ml measuring marks to trickle in . I can visually see the kernals and control how many I want to dump out instead of having to use tweezers . Kinda like a fine tuned trickler .

rarity but when checking with the acculab it does happen. 90 percent of the time it is heavier and kernels are removed

Since the Chargemaster is +/- .01 grain, you are indeed correct. Using the weight readout solely on the unit itself, I never had a registered under throw with Varget. I am not saying it can't happen, but if the readout is taken as the Gospel according to RCBS it will only stop dispensing when it reaches the target amount, fiddling around with the dispense speed, McDonald's straw and whatever else notwithstanding.
