CCI SV Question

The best kept secret in a lot of Rimfire sporters in regards to ammo is Norma tac 22. For some reason in 18.5in barrel or longer, it has shot as good for me as any SK and some eley products. At the price point of the Norma (~4.99/50) it is certainly worth a shot. Cci and blazer have both always produced flyers for me. Sometimes as much as 0.5-1in. Glad you are shooting the rimfires and hope you continue to enjoy them. You started off with one of the best factory 22 sporters right out of the box. The Jard trigger upgrade for 100$ may be worth it, but I was able to get mine done to just under a pound and a good friend of mine fit it to a nice wood t3x stock to give it the classic sporter feel and look I was after. The tighter group is tac 22 at 50yds the cci std is labeled. Happy shooting! SHView attachment 1559194
Squirrel, or anybody else…. have you found any difference between the newer red boxes of tac 22 vs the older black boxes ?

Damn that’s good to know after I bought a pile yesterday. Danget. Maybe my trash will shoot it as good as black box
it is still as good as any 80$ brick of SK. The older stuff shoots similar in consistency to center x. The new stuff is still great! It’s a much better investment than cci sv

So your experience is if I’m right, you would take a red box over the cci sv still yet ?

I run it in handguns. For my CZ457s I just spend the money on better ammo. Nothing more frustrating that knowing ammo cost you a match. I've tested lots of SV that has smaller ES and SD than some lots of Eley Match (luck?) but the Eley still shot better all the way out to 250m.

Let us know how it shoots
Eh. I ran 5 of each to try and season the barrel then 5 for group. On this go round the sv was tighter than the red box but both had flyers. Dont really know if 5 rounds is enough for a test with a change in ammo. Either one its a head shot on a squirrel at 50 yds anyways
