is it best to size a case before trimming to lenght? or trim to lenght before sizing?

Is it weird that some of my brass has been fired 4 times yet is still under the max length? I feel like I am doing something wrong (and wasted money on a trimmer).

You trim for consistency. Consistency is accuracy. Trim to a number inside the SAAMI spec and you are good to go.

If you measure your resized cases, you'll see that they vary in length. A trimmer is a must have piece of equipment.

HHhmmm, I think I see the difference. I have always measured making sure they were at or below the maximum, not even noticing if they were the same size across the board. Thanks for the tip.
