Case broke in 223 body die and is stuck

I don't think it's a case stretch.
If referring to my 223 photo? You would be very wrong. .014" stretch.

Never trust a progressive press to apply the same shoulder set back at each station. Take head to datum measurements from each fl sizing at each station. (Shell Plate deck height variation)

i have some 5 times fired hornady brass in 22-250 that is showing this ring at the 'classic' separation point at the web.... thing is they have only been trimmed once, shoulder bumps have been 0.002", pretty mild loads, tight headspace on a savage, and most puzzling the bent paper clip does not 'feel' the groove, nor does the borescope 'show' it.

so, incipient separation, or not?

Not.
Its easy to mistake a radial groove from a chip drag during reaming, and a imminent CHS. No internal groove- you're fine.

Reamer grooves will be perfectly radial around the outside, more often than not a CHS isn't a perfect radial groove, a little wavy. CHS will be a shiny spot on the outside surface with no material displaced (but thinned on the ID), reamer groove you will see displaced material on the outside either displaced to the inside or the outside depending on if the reamer had a defect on a cutting edge or drug a chip.

Msg to the OP-

If everyone registered here that has stuck a case in a die responded here, this thread would get to 100 pages easy.

The OP inquired about removing the remaining case left in die after CHS. Quite a different removal process from standard stuck case in die.

I would talk to your rifle smith. Mine would probably remove it while I waited.... I stuck a case in my chamber once from a hot load then some stupidity and then a broken extractor. I dropped it off to him in the evening and picked it up the next afternoon. He said if he didn't have to take the barrel off i could have waited for it.
